Just sold RR for >25% on last week's buy.
I suspect they may keep going up and eventually recover to 3.00.
But that will take time and I don't like holding when something shoots up this much, so quickly.
If it falls back I'd buy again.
Otherwise happy to invest elsewhere or hold cash.

UKOG needs to be producing something it can sell at that price before celebrating.
I sold my last UKOG recently and hold much more in majors, so I'm happy.
Still interested in trading UKOG, if an opportunity arises.
Something like this might be good for that, if it's realised and they're not still issuing more shares.

Not saying I told you so but, I have been saying through last year that Brent would go above $70 and probably $100 when everyone's let out to play again.
The infrastructure has been shut down and sold off.
When demand comes back it will come back quickly and too fast for producers to restore their operations and train new staff.
Unsatisfied demand will push prices up.
I wouldn't even be surprised to see it breaking records (at least for a short while) and queues at the pumps again.

I sold and re-purchased RR last week for a cheeky 10%.
I originally bought a month ago with the intention of holding until at least the latter part of the year.

RR have some hidden bonuses in that they have a strong software div. and they don't sell aircraft engines - they lease them.
New engine sales have been down the last year and shares took a massive hit.
Holidays are already moving into overdrive again and this will require aircraft (and parts) replacement.
I want to see the SP back above £3.00 (maybe next year?), but will adapt while they're still volatile (I don't see this kind of volatility lasting for long).
IMHO, I'm far from being an expert.
Just interested in managing my own investments and happy to share info where others might also profit, but not advise.

PS. This morning I put another £15k into SMT (Scottish Mortgage). It's down about 20% from a week or two ago, but up 150% from when I first bought two years ago.

I kept calm and bought another £15k.
That's quite a bit for me; I usually only invest in £10k tranches.
Been in for just two years and loving this trust for short-term trading as well as a long-term investment.

I made a little over £100,000, from an initial investment of £1,000.
That was over an 18 month period which dried up over two years ago.

The crux of the matter is that Swampy needs to educate himself.
The energy replacement programme they're aiming for and hoping to achieve is simply impossible.
The mineral resources required to construct the infrastructure do not exist on this planet.
The only way it might be achieved is to reduce energy use and that can only be by drastically reducing the population.

Qwerty, also this was also taken from my (unprotected) F&S account with HL.
I keep 'spare' cash in it, which I can then use to feed my annual ISA and SIPP allowances.
So I would've needed to have around £24k in cash by April 6th anyway, just to make the transfer.

I think it's more likely to rise than fall, so it was reasonable to sell a small amount.
The price will be volatile all year and I still believe it will go much higher. as we're let out to play again.
I still have the bulk of my holding, just sold this lot on the off-chance of a small, but quick, profit.
If I can't buy them back for a lower price I can sit on the cash, either for income or other opportunities.

I bought and hold BP for the long term.
But I have also adapted to changing situations and traded when I thought there might be an opportunity.

I'm not a big trader and (other than BP) only trade a very small amount of my portfolio.
50% of all my profits has been going straight back into my 'safe' portfolio.
More recently I'm bored of spending as much time trading and shying away from trading altogether, so 100% has been re-invested.

The dividend is only just inflation-busting recently, as the last two were halved, but that is certainly one of the benefits.
Let's hope Looney restores it soon.
Still better than having it in a bank though....

Unlike many other posters here, I wouldn't buy in simply on a fall without seeing any future.
That's all I want to see here.

When I bought/sold previously I found it very reasonable to buy on a fall, believing it wouldn't be long before it rose and i could sell for a quick profit.
There was a time where you could bank on that almost every day (sometimes several times a day).
That's what I'm here for.

UKOG only issues good news as a distraction from worse news these days.

Painter - I have made a lot from UKOG, but recently sold out completely.
I might buy in again for trading opportunities.

A 'realistic' answer depends on your expectations.
Will it reach 11p again tomorrow? Nope.
Might it reach 0.15p tomorrow? Maybe, certainly more chance of that than 11p.

Will it EVER reach 11p again? Maybe, but it will need some real change.
I don't see any reason to be excited about UKOG at the moment.
That's not to say there will never be sufficient changes to provide one.

Hope you didn't buy in for too much, and that you make the right choices for your future growth/profit.
