I only react to it.
The closest I get to that is having a hunch whether it's going up or down, not by how much.
Sometimes it may happen in minutes sometimes days, weeks, or months.

When I did it originally with UKOG, it happened much more quickly and for much greater %'s.
But the amounts were smaller.

At time of sale, BP was still 1/4 of my whole portfolio (not by design, just happened and I didn't re-balance it).
I'm not going to confirm that level of my personal wealth but, as I retired in 2016 , that should give you enough of an idea of how much it is worth to me now, six years on (I've already posted that my portfolio has been averaging 15% growth in a previous reply to one of your more serious querys).

I sold my entire BP holding this morning, as I was anticipating a fall much further than actually happened.
I bought back in from the four accounts I'd sold earlier (ISA; SIPP; and two other accounts I manage for family) after it fell a further 4%.
That was slightly above an amount to balance out the loss, but only just.
I've re-sold this afternoon for a 3% profit, so I'm up on the deal.
I would still like to buy some back but only half, which would re-balance my portfolio.
I have other targets for the rest now, which would leave me some to buy back in the Summer.

Poor old Gideons.
If only you were open-minded enough to consider something you'd previously dismissed out of hand.
You know, like if someone had posted their own successes for others to consider whether they might be able to try something similar for themselves and not just naively accuse them of boasting.
That might be embarrassing if you'd been foolish enough to post something so silly.

I was expecting the Rosneft news, but not this soon and did not have anything in place to counter it.
I would not have seen it on the news yesterday either as I was out late.
But I did check in here while doing something else when I got back.
After verifying it I set up a Fill or Kill order for 350p and got 362p on opening which was -4% from where it closed on Friday.
Price has continued to fall and I am currently up 4% on that this morning (if I'd bought back in which I have not.., yet).
Which balances it all out.
I would be happy to buy back in to it, but not sure where atm.

Thus, I humbly offer my thanks to you for posting on this one.
I was preparing for a 20% loss of value over the Rosneft issue, so (even if I'd not seen your post) not bad really all things considered.

Of all the carp you've come up with, that is especially untrue.
I always wish UKOG shareholders/traders the best of luck and profits.
I do that to anyone I don't want anyone to make a loss, I'm not interested in them only profits.
I post about BP as a genuine oil producer and dividend distributor, for the benefit of the UKOG rampies.
I have been a UKOG shareholder and through my own bad times here, fortunately outweighed by the good ones.

I will continue to own BP shares.
If the company were ever to go completely bust and the SP went to zero overnight, I will be disappointed at the loss.

It would be more painful to see the damage it would cause the country.
