The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Hi Scott appreciate the shared data you provide. I wonder if you know when it would be possible to build the ice road. Its obviously weather dependant but the earlier the better I would imagine. Last year the company were lucky with the weather and managed to extend access time.
Given the fact Jays overall plan is to sell the whole lot does question how a farm in would be dealt with in that scenario. I am sure it can be but it will be complicated and therefore time consuming. I am not sure how old Jay is but he looks well into his 70s and could do with a rest, so short term not long term.
can anyone explain why spencer has done what he has. looks odd to me.
Yes always good to see a share price going up. However how much is
due to the BODs
We need energetic management not a Board believing the assets we have will do the talking.
And do we know how this will pan out.
I was hoping to halve my investment at about 80p which was a conservative estimate of what we had before the drill results. I await the webinar with interest and hope that it encourages existing shareholders to stay with the story for another year. But I am now overweight for a longer term investment. Extremely disappointed I just feel the existing BOD take too many gambles and should instead prove up the easier targets get some cash flow and then go for broke. I think we have a winner in the right hands. There is an old saying good management can make bad assets sing and poor management can ruin good assets. Fingers crossed.
Looks as if the magic figure of minus 5 cannot be maintained later in the week. I just don't get it Alaska is short of money surely with so much to play for they would allow an extended period for testing. Lorries and gear can be flown out and in without damage to the perma frost.
anyone seen it?
There is an argument to support the view management will go on testing Kuparuk for at least another week. The remaining basins are ready to go so why not carry on at Kuparuk for as long as possible.
The only things we don't know are the reasons why they have continued to test Kuparuk at the expense of risking running out of time. And I don't mean finger in the air. Its all speculation because they haven't told us in any detail. It comes down to management judgement. Fingers crossed they have it right this time. We have had too many mistakes in the past.
you got to very good indeed, but how about extremely good? The word now being used by Jay.
I do buy in to what you say restricting access to the data can have a negative effect. However I can also see that by not making the data available it does allow serious future bids to take place. Having inside information would preclude a bid perhaps.
Fear Uncertainty and Doubt. All three present hear. The company could quite easily be a little more professional rather than leave too much uncertainty after all Jay and Bob have stoked market expectations.
What are the guys playing at?
I guess we are looking at 7 days testing then results available. Will they announce the Kuparuk results or wait for the next lot? Risk still interesting but with such a negative sentiment amongst traders its difficult to call. I would imagine the risk to the current share price will disappear if the K test is positive. But fall back to the 30 level if negative. Waiting for all results in one rns would be the most risky.
hi marmaris why is it the market hasn't reacted more positively? what am i missing, is it a lack of balls? I get the cautious rns but so much is already known about Kuparuk for example i had assumed the sp would be over 50p today. Perhaps the yanks will push it higher but they are closed today.
I think you have had your negative say on more than one occasion in fact going back many years you do negatives rather well. Try waking up one morning in a positive frame of mind and you will be amazed at the positive outcome.
Perhaps he will buy back after the sell off
Hi guys, I don't think I have ever seen a professional like Bob (is there anyone like Bob) be so upbeat, the constant smile on his face is a tonic. Can anyone put a % success rate on the Talitha well? Difficult I imagine but some of you guys who are very knowledgable will have a figure in mind. 4 zones looks to me like four chances
and any one could be a company changer.
Well I am in the lets get to 75p range before selling unless the company fails which i don't think it will now. I have always thought AlkaMem was worth 1billion on its own. The next 12 months will enlighten us.
