RE: Capital raise after successful win!14 Jun 2019 11:56
Mogbear the way I look at it is simple. We need Capital win or lose. The current BoD will struggle to raise capital if they win and at what cost. I'd also argue that whatever they raise wont be enough to bring this to fruition and will be whittled away on other prospects (eg why are we bothering with prospecting permits in Ireland). They have form in this regard. The latest Broker note clearly states Finance is going to be a problem
Financial
With a market capitalisation of only £1.35M financing is going to be a problem, even getting sufficient money together for the pilot plant. However, once this is achieved, and should the bulk samples processed through it prove economic, and Karelian meets the terms in its agreement with Rio Tinto, then Rio has the option to earn a 51% interest in the project by paying for its development.
The new proposed BoD has a plan that would at least try and commercialise Lahtojoki in our lifetime and I am looking forward to seeing their proposal. More importantly I believe they can actually raise the capital required, have the relevant expertise and have the desire and fiscal incentive (non-salaried) to get it done to the benefit of all shareholders.
