Not sure why cwu is taking sooo long to put out a statement, or what's on offer....

You would have the Dave and Andy would have kept the executive on board during the talks.

Unless they have kept the members and fellow board members in the dark, and now they are explaining what they have achieved.

I was just saying how difficult it would be to seperating the parcels from letters business...

Last few months the SP has been hovering around the 230p mark....

It's not crashed because of Mr K , many small shareholders may not be aware (and have been selling shares), but large institutional shareholders are aware of possibility of takeover , so they having been holding onto their stock. The price has not gone up because of Mr DW... Now that DW has faded away for the foreseeable future, let's hope the sp can rise above £3 soon....esp as the macroeconomic outlook improves.....

At the moment I don't think special administration or uso will be utmost in the mind of the board...

Now that the dispute is nearing its conclusion, I think implementing changes to turn around RM will be the primary focus......

The special administration was borne out of the dispute as a leverage to pressure the cwu (and it worked). If there was more strikes then special administration would have been the right of course of action for the board....

Nevertheless the main issue with special administration, is the untangling of the letters from parcels....

If the board wishes to go down the path of special administration, now is the time I think for them to start planning for it...ie deciding which parts of the business they would like , and then ring fencing that business...

If memory serves me well , it took Barclays 3 years and 1.4 billion to ring fence their UK / deposit operations from their risky investment banks side. And for RM parcels and letters is even more intertwined....

If the home work can be done correctly and early, then it will be risk free for IDS and shareholders....if it was forced on due to a no vote , and lack of prep , then there will be direct and collateral damage to the whole business....it's not as straight forward, and that's why maybe Mr k hasn't gone on for the kill yet....

If the board is serious about special administration, then maybe parcelforce and the super and min hubs could should be moved over to GLS within next couple of months.....

If nothing changes next few months , then special administration is just a after thought for the board....

CWU climb down or CWU being realistic...

Better to change and grow the business, rather than go into special administration or RM loose more market share. Both options would result in more job losses....

If only MR DW, could have been more pragmatic from the start, then the damaged could have been limited...

In the end DW and his cronies have come around to the company way of thinking, which is one bit positive...

On members , they will be grieved,

On pay , they will not be happy but in the end, the company is making a loss , and they will still get a pay rise, while shareholders get no divi...

On late starts, they need to get into the real world, and it's good CWU have accepted this.

On revisions, its not for them to decide what's acceptable load, in the end they are employed, and the employer decides

PDA and all tracking tools etc will be used , it's only proper a employer knows what the workers are doing...

On reps suspension, it's good RM have stuck to their guns, all members need to understand they cannot run amok in the company, and run to Uncle Dave to save their skins.

On new starters. I'm surprised that RM is even discussing this, RM should limit areas of discussion with the union...less is better...

I believe if RM can get this last offer done and dusted , then RM can go after the enemy within...low and mid level managers have been given are free hand to implement change now...cwu days and lazy postie's days are limited now....

Also a few buy from Mr K, in march , nothing in April but I believe if he is intent on buying IDS, then it has to be in next few months.....if he wants it cheap in the range of £4-£4.50

As we go into the later part of the year, inflation , interest rates will be heading south, and parcel levels north....Dave and his cronies dead and buried....then large institutional shareholders will be asking for nothing under £5..... that would be nice for my holdings....

Oli, A major surgery at RM operations would give everyone bumper profits every year, and a bigger fatter divi..as well as skyrocket the share price....

Where as GLS is ok for a steady reliable stream of profits and dividends....and a share price of between £2.20 and £3.00

If a conclusion can be achieved, I for one believe there is more to be gained for shareholders as a plc rather than been snapped up by Mr K.

I think the board have got their bits between the teeth, and I determined to turn around things at the UK operation....

You only need to just look at cost cutting like ban on overtime, as well as leaving vacancies unfilled ,
ignoring USO totally, as well as forcing through revisions in the face of cwu and members revolt....all the changes will bear fruit soon.....and these are only the tip of an iceberg.....t

This board is not contempt with accepting the status quo and keep prodding along....

All change has been forced through irrespective of talks , public and the politicians....

With a mighty victory over militant Dave and co , let the transformation of RM begin, and the profits roll in.....

On predictions I reckon a deal will be struck, one that the union can recommend to its members

One thing I believe is the union does realise how serious the special administration is

Most members are simply concerned about a pay rise and late finishes , and are oblivious to the fact if there is NO deal, then there could be NO JOB

I believe the union does realise this, and does not want to go to unknown territory, as things could get nasty

So for me this week it's a deal with a yes vote....

I am sure last week Dave said the talks have ended but they do have back channels talks, which he said is normal in this situation...

He should have taken a pragmatic approach, instead of firing from all cylinders, knowing quite well coffers are all empty.

The postal executive must be somewhere between 6 and 10 old age guys....

Surely someone at one of the meeting must or could have said, like it or not , RM finances are in a bad state, let's not fire up our members with ludicrous pay claim, knowing well , the company cannot afford and will not give.

Let's be pragmatic, and go for a fair and reasonable deal, that's affordable for the company and acceptable to out members....

Once the attack on shareholders and Simon Thompson started , it was clear cwu and Dave were at war , rather than negotiating a sensible deal.....

Hence they are locked in a room holding their heads now....

No wonder FB and Twitter are quiet.

It's not the management it's the workforce, just too many manual workers who think they are board calibre....

Just too many chiefs and not enough Indians....
