It would depend on the half yearly update. No reason to think it would drop that low. Also a lot of IIs are in it for the recovery. I'm working on a bid being likely, as one has already been received, so I think the risk reward is favourable.

In answer to my previous question, Rule 8(3)b of the code requires that holders over 1% that deal during this period make additional declarations as to how their holdings change.

Some of the recent sells may be an II or two, albeit in small amounts. If they are over 1% they will have to declare within 10 days. Otherwise it could always be holders under 1% that are trading.

One point that I do agree with Mazik on is that in a few weeks time such trades shouldn't matter one bit.

You are quite right Mazik. Your posts show that there is a better way. I will try to up my posting numbers, post throughout the day and where possible never add anything of interest. That way, like you, I will really start to live.

Genuine question, why does an uncrossed trade at 51.6 likely mean that the sp will start lower tomorrow?

Beat me to it, was going to suggest exactly the same thing. I'd look to keep the sp low for the time being and try for a recommended offer.

Entirely possible that retail are funding IIs here. Check the trades. Sell a few blocks, cause panic, watch the PIs impale themselves in the rush to get out, then buy 3x the amount a a healthy discount. Easy money.

From the declarations to date, directors and institutions over 1% hold over 70% and counting. A few PIs selling today but it looks like there is still background buying. Should be no more than a pause in the upward movement.

More holdings RNS expected today. It will be interesting to see who Lombard sold the 2.5% to the other week. May see who has been sneaking up on the blindside.

Looks like we get to find out all holdings over 1% as a result of this process. Interesting to see that L&G retain a fair number of shares, albeit under 3%.
