Nothing to say I guess, nobody real knows what's happening rig wise, nothing reportrd by rig owners either. There was a recent presentation given in Dublin, see link below. Same as previous presentations just will dates shown due to the delays. https://www.jerseyoilandgas.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/JOG-Proactive-Investors-Dublin-22nd-November-2018-Final-Read-Only.pdf
Disappointing news today, more frustrated that we found out through a fishing website rather than JOG, that's embarrassing. I mean the article had the name and number of the contact from Equinor. I'm confident this share will reward eventually but I would have rather put my money elsewhere for the last 6 months, I guess that's the risk you take.
Well at least they have stated the obvious now, Would have been good to get more detail on reasons why but Equinors choice of the West Phoenix hasent proved to be a great one in my opinion. Survey results should be available by then so maybe the news could be even better, back to waiting which is frustrating.
It's more about the PSA being on-board to Investigate which is never good. NADL did also get a notice of the order from the PSA at the start of the year. Just bad timing in my opinion given the other news floating about. https://mobile.offshoreenergytoday.com/nadl-faces-order-over-safety-faults-on-west-phoenix-rig/
Norway’s offshore safety body is investigating a fire which broke out on the West Phoenix drilling rig on Monday. The blaze was detected in the mud laboratory on the Seadrill-owned facility. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported. It was drilling in the Norwegian Sea with Equinor as operator. An investigation team from the PSA has now started work on the facility. At no point have I said anything about weather, all I've stated, as per the article I read, was it aims to improve NPT. That could be anything to do with logistics planning, maintenance problem solving, improved analysis of drilling data through the new technology. Yes more stable DP is an advantage but that's just one benefit. The industry is moving towards technology to support operations, that was my point. This board is for sharing information which I have done. Hope you ok with that
https://mobile.offshoreenergytoday.com/kongsberg-to-deliver-monitoring-systems-for-two-seadrill-rigs/ The above discusses Rig upgrades, I never mentioned the drill packages, just that these upgrades should minimise NPT. “Much of the key equipment on West Hercules and West Phoenix, including dynamic positioning and automation systems, and wellbore and drilling operations are provided by Kongsberg Maritime and Kongsberg Digital. By introducing our sophisticated real-time monitoring system and advisory services, the impact of integration across-disciplines and services with respect to managing rig up-time and staying safe during operations is significant.”
