The was a retrace in spring 2017. It could be argued that the rising trend had been broken that time too, however the price recovered quite quickly and continued to rise.

As I said a couple of days ago, BHP now have a big enough holding to play around selling and buying to move the market but without crossing any notification thresholds.

Big players want this and aren't going to play nicely so they can get it as cheap as possible.

I think they will want to try and keep a lid on it. I would also guess they might be uncomfortable about a found raising diluting their holding and protecting solg for the future. The discounted bought deal was a shock at the time but has paid off in the longer term

So I bought a 6.1% stake in the company. I would then add another .4% to take me up to 6.5%

I would then have around 7.5 million shares that I could either buy or sell without breaching 6 or 7% thresholds for notification.

I could then buy or sell into any peaks or drops to even things out and stop the sp spiking.

My thoughts only i am interested in your ideas

schlemiel, the art of good management is to have people in place who do all the jobs you don't want to do so I reject that he will personally have to spend more time than he wants in Ecuador.

He is already minted but a very driven man. Why on earth would he not have kicked back and retired before if that is what he wanted. He could have a couple of non exec directorships to keep ticking over and see his old mates. I'm blimmin sure that there are a shed load of companies who would love his advice and for a good price.

Would BHP have had access to the information the GG director was privy to?

The reason could well be that another company is conducting due diligence Charlie. I understand that would block any new price sensitive news.

Before BHP took a stake the board had multiple derampers for ages. Since they have bought in, the derampers seem to have left.
I can see how it would be beneficial to BHP to employ people to try and talk the price down. Since they bought in they have made a cool £11m profit already which was caused by them buying in.

So the question is, would they now like the sp to go up so that they make nore money on their investment or down so they can buy more at a better price?
