Whole load more lambs to the slaughter, on that fake spike! MM's off-loading unwanted stock. They get away with it every time. Sadly, that's yet another bunch of newbies who now find themselves down 10% today, as a result of excitedly buying into it . . .

Or they do a large cash call, clean up the Balance Sheet and start again; but with way fewer stores? Maybe, they get it away for 15p and we are then all forced to wait a few years, for better days?

Yes, it could well be that you are right scoredagainsteps (as I also mentioned here, early last month). With each passing day and no news, I feel that it may well mean that JD is struggling to get the finance, to take it private. He needs to raise quite a bit of cash, but with a fair old chunk of debt sitting on the Balance Sheet and ever dwindling sales, it becomes a much less attractive option for any potential Investor. Just a quick glance at the Balance Sheet and you see far too many numbers in brackets. We don't want to see numbers in brackets!!! Anyway, who knows - but it needs a very reassuring RNS - PDQ!

You have to be very careful with these little mini-spikes. The MM's like to deploy them to lure in the excitable puppies, making them think that something is 'just about to happen'. They start buying up shares in eager anticipation, only for the MM's to drop it back down again, having off-loaded lots of unwanted stock sat on their Books! As easy as that! May not be happen today, but be wary as they have done this so many times here. . . .

The great irony is that the more these people ramp, the more other folk start to question what they have invested in and SELL! That is EXACTLY what happened at Darktrace. Net result? Share tanked and has NEVER recovered. Every chance the same will happen here I reckon. So, they end up achieving the opposite result. I will be selling a large % of my holding here today. The stuff written on this board, has made me really question the validity of being exposed to SDRY. I also wish that I had listened to my colleagues last year, who said, when I quizzed them "buy Rolls Royce but steer clear of Superdry". But 'no', I knew best!! Bad decision on my part. . . 😰

OrangeMoon that's a very fanciful idea, as it just will not happen. Not a prayer! We had a lovely quiet two hours yesterday, with ZERO posts and quite right, as there is ZERO to discuss. Then, sadly, this board returned to its usual toxic and vacuous self. It's a horrid disfunctional board, with very little substance; I'd go so far as to say, that it is the worst I have ever seen on LSE. Poorly performing shares (that's a mega polite description for SDRY!), usually produce poor quality chat boards. High Performance shares, invariably produce functional, well-informed chat boards! Just how these comic books work really! 🤮 ATB

Well Garydav2, it certainly is a shocking collapse, as it really does look increasingly (and very swiftly) like it is being priced to fail. Does someone know something that we don't? Like problems raising the cash required to acquire? That question in light of this share price collapse, simply cannot now be ignored; as this rapid decent is just not normal. I am going to have to ask myself some unpleasant questions, that I had hoped not to, this evening . . . Have a nice evening all. ATB

Because they have to 'be seen' to be giving him a fair chance. It's nothing more than that. Personally, with its debt pile, I think that those he is speaking to, will want a bigger slice than he is comfortable with. He wants money. They have money - so they have the real power! Otherwise, he would use his own money, which I can guarantee you he won't! Rich people make money with other people's money. And so the wheel turns!! ATB

That is not the same as what you wrote: "The CEO has only stated that he intends to make an offer".

Sorry Sm66 but we do need to be very accurate here. He has said that he is thinking about the possibility and 'exploring' finance options; that is far from a slam dunk of an offer being made! Very often finance is not forthcoming. . .

I sold every share in DT and put it all (plus more) into RR (am now up over 300%). RR has a better future than DT in my opinion and will return a dividend, long before DT has any chance of doing the same. I'll say no more here.... Genuinely Good Luck with it though.

Savvy - Darktrace has been a total basket case since it got 'pumped & dumped' immediately following it's IPO. It has just gained some momentum in the last week, but 90% of people there are very very heavily under-water. PLUS you have poster CR888 to deal with, which makes even worse! Ignore

Not a dissimilar situation here, with Superdrys' share price.

Breavman - that's a point much discussed and being honest, nobody really knows why they appear; well, not that I know of anyway? One 'theory' is that it's the MM's communicating with each other. A 'code' thing if you like. But again, nobody really knows if that's fact or fiction! The City and its workings are and always have been, a little murky! Just how they like it!! ATB 😃
