Third wave possibly coming to Europe 2021 WHO envoy states. He points out Asia dealing with basics like wearing masks effective at reducing levels and keeping them low.

Difficult even for the idiots to say masks aren’t going to be required -

New Hampsire Gov. Chris Sununu announced a statewide mask mandate on Nov. 19, bringing to 37 the number of state governments that require people to wear face coverings in public to curb the spread of COVID-19. The District of Columbia and Puerto Rico also have mask orders in place.

To date, one state that had a full mask mandate has lifted it: Mississippi, which did so on Sept. 30. Gov. Tate Reeves has since instituted a partial mask order covering counties with high rates of COVID-19 transmission.

State mandates vary in details (for example, exemptions for children range in cutoff age from 2 to 12), but broadly speaking, they require masks in indoor public spaces such as restaurants and stores, on public transit and ride-hailing services, and outdoors when unable to maintain 6 feet of distance from others.

There are generally exceptions for people with disabilities or medical conditions that prevent the use of face coverings, and allowances for certain situations where masking is difficult, unnecessary or hinders communication (for example, when swimming, eating, exercising alone, getting dental treatment or speaking with a hearing-impaired person). Some state rules also include exemptions for people attending religious services

Hopefully a great week ahead for us. Plenty of articles over the weekend concerning vaccines not being the fix to this issue. Masks, testing and treatments could be with us for years. SNG has a good article in the Guardian this morning which is expanding its understanding of the virus and treatments that are going to be required. Holgate is one of the founders of Synairgen, a University of Southampton spin-off company that has been testing inhaled interferon-beta, an important innate defence that works by shutting down viral replication, as a treatment for Covid-19. A major international study backed by the World Health Organization, called Solidarity, showed that interferon-beta was not effective in treating hospitalised patients, but more recently Synairgen has published the results of a small pilot study suggesting that given in patients with milder disease – and inhaled rather than injected under the skin – it enhanced recovery.

“The reason bats are able to harbour these viruses in such large numbers is that they have such a strong interferon response,” Holgate says. “That is why they don’t develop disease.” Synairgen is now testing whether interferon-beta can prevent hospitalisation in patients who inhale it soon after testing positive, at home. If the approach works, he says, the advantage is that it will continue to do so even if the virus mutates, since interferon’s action does not depend on the structure of the virus

But for some time now, scientists have been busy developing a range of other ways to deliver vaccines that could bypass the need for expensive cold-chain infrastructure and the fragile glass vials often used to package doses.

Scientists are exploring whether future Covid-19 vaccines could be in the form of inhaled vapours, powders, tablets, oral drops or intranasal sprays, for which the only delivery requirements could be a mailing address.

We don’t know his circumstances. If there is a divorce settlement going on he might be trying to pay off the Mrs now, keep the house etc rather than let her get half of his share options that he knows are going to be his little pension plan in the future. Who knows but we now know most have gone and I personally am happy with the price after all of this. Stability hopefully now and onwards with news soon.
