Just bought in here this morning. Have been looking at it for a few weeks and now think it now or never. Very exciting potential and future. I’m hoping to see the SP return to previous higher levels and looking forward to the impending news.

A five-minute Covid test made in the UK could be the key to kick-starting the return of clubs, live sporting matches and concerts.

Yorkshire firm Avacta have developed a new super-fast lateral flow test which is understood to be in its last testing stage at the Government's top-secret Porton Down lab.

The test's developers say it is more accurate and faster than the US devices currently in use - and it could be announced in Boris Johnson's highly-anticipated 'roadmap' out of lockdown plans on Monday.

Really starting to get exciting now. I think we could accelerate pretty fast in the next couple of weeks. We will be a pound plus later in this year or we will not be here. My money is that we will be in a good place.

High-throughput robotic platforms like the Biomek i7 liquid handler are ideally suited for use with the freeze-dried bead chemistry of the Genedrive test. Stable at room temperature for 4 hours after unsealing, many Genedrive® 96 SARS-CoV-2 Kit 96-well plates can be left arrayed and open in the lab environment during the setup process. The ready-to-go nature of the test bead also removes the fluid dispensing steps required in other assays, increasing the overall throughput of the Biomek i7 compared to using a liquid based test setup. Accordingly, once validated, Beckman Coulter estimates that this new turnkey solution could process about 1,000 PCR samples per Biomek during an 8-hour workday, using only a 0.5 full-time equivalent in technician time for processing.

The agreement will enable Beckman Coulter to sell and distribute GENE’s high-throughput COVID-19 PCR Kit in the US and Europe for use on upper respiratory viral samples.

The partnership is the result of an agreement announced in August 2020, under which the companies worked to develop and validate a fully automated PCR process for Beckman’s Biomek automated workstation in conjunction with its RNAdvance Viral XP extraction kit.

Genedrive has described its SARS-CoV-2 test as ‘ideally suited’ for use on the high throughput robotic Biomek i7 instrument due to its ready-to-go nature of the test.

This removes many of the fluid dispensing steps required in competitor assays, increasing the throughput of the Biomek compared to using a liquid reagent-based test formulation.?

The Company said full automation of the overall PCR workflow can allow laboratories to run large numbers of tests over extended working hours or workstation platforms.
