That would be down to the individual to inform RM and not for me to do it.

Fairly sure most employers would ask any employee with a second job to sign a declaration. No issue unless a conflict of interest.

Isle no idea about indoor/outdoor actuals and don’t need to know.

No idea what time they finish. Don’t need to know.

No idea whether they finish early or not. Again dont need to know.

No conflict of interest I’m aware of.

Is your issue your pay and t&cs or the shareholders getting there own way. I’m not sure what getting my own way would be by the way? An increase in SP or some sense in negotiations?

How would this fit into posties being shareholders? How would they get their own way? Is that possible? All so confusing.

I really don’t know the ins and outs of it in terms of what the argument is so I don’t want to upset anyone by commenting. I just read there are 3 or 4 posties on here that say what’s on offer isn’t good enough.

What I can comment on is I have a few posties working for me as second jobs. 3 in total.

To quote them not me.

They get paid very well for the work they do. They are not micro managed. They all finish at a reasonable hour to enable them to have a good work life balance and have second jobs (I read the bit about this being declared). The job isn’t technical. They get a good pension. But the thing that strikes me the most about all three is they openly admit they left school at 16 have no qualifications and wouldn’t get this type of money anywhere else with so little stress.

Now I’m not saying all of this is 100% accurate and I certainly don’t work for RM but I see no reason why they would lie?

Again I ask the question are things really that bad?

What’s the issue here given your t&cs are decent as well as pay compared to so called rivals?

My question to those voting to strike would be what is the alternative job wise if you didn’t work for RM and how would this compare as a full package?

This is not me having a go as I have no idea it’s for my understanding as an investor who’s current investment is worth 50% less than I started with.

With only being on here very sporadically the bits I read you are negative towards RM.

Can I ask what the issue is? Is it pay? Terms and conditions? Pension? Or more than that?

This is not me having a go in any way shape or form as I only have the infrequent bits I read so just trying To understand the negativity.

My best pals dad has just retired from nights working at the RM sorting office on Oldham Road Manchester. He used to spend a couple of hours a night most shifts for 25 years in the pub across the road (while getting paid on shift). He openly admits to taking the **** for years.

He now has a 400k house in Withington and goes on holiday 5 times a year.

Sorry to hear that news. Reminds me of my mother. Will never listen to me when it comes to keeping valuables safe and who to trust and not to trust. Too many bad eggs in this world.Hopefully it’s a Lesson learned. Didn’t think we would see these numbers again following election/brexit getting sorted etc. RMG is worth way more than it’s showing. I’m plenty down but holding long term.
