I didn't have to activate my account. It let me withdraw the funds without any other issues
My issue with my HL F&S account was that when I tried to extract all of the DCU payment HL informed me that they would close my account if I didn't leave a minimum amount in the account. Not wanting to run the risk that I may lose the DCU holding in the account I had to leave some cash in it.
Have received payment into my F&S account on HL. The last payment was made into my ISA account. So looks like all providers are aligning themselves in this manner.
"and all the lunatics do is throw abuse at me. LOL" - People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones
Maybe this needs printing out and stapling to your forehead.
HL - 18th May
As the DCUs are not listed, they do not automatically meet the criteria to be held within an ISA. However, on occasion, special agreements can be made for certain investments of this nature to remain within the ISA if agreed by HMRC.
Both Hurricane Energy plc and Hargreaves Lansdown have reached out to HMRC to enquire as to whether they would allow the DCUs to remain within an ISA. We will let you know once we have received a response back.
Please be aware that if HMRC do not grant this permission, the DCUs will be classed as an ISA ineligible investment. If this is the case, the DCUs will need to be transferred out of your ISA within 30 days of receipt.
HL - 30th May
If you hold your shares within an ISA, please note that further to our message sent on 18 May 2023, we are still waiting for HMRC to confirm whether the DCUs can be held within an ISA. We will let you know once we have received a response back.
Clearly you are incorrect. As I have already stated that I spoke to HMRC and they advised to wait for HL/ HUR(Prax) to confirm when they had received a decision from HMRC.
Just because some providers have made the decision that they cant based on preliminary understanding of the ISA rules (which ignores the fact that HMRC can allow certain instruments in special circumstances) doesn't mean that HMRC have confirmed that they cant. As others have stated my DCU's are still listed in my ISA and until they are moved they will continue to remain in my ISA and all payments related to them will remain in my ISA.
You have repeatedly stated that they cant and you have an email to prove this but until you show proof of this I will maintain that you are full of the proverbial.
"Who says??!!!"
So says Kever, fountain of all knowledge. /sarc
HL funds delivered here about 15min ago. Full 6.02p. DCUs also listed in holdings of ISA.
Thanks for posting the rules. Given that there are frequent posts of comms from HL/II/etc I hope that you will be policing them and reminding them of the rules.
"DCU's can NOT be held in an ISA"
Prove it. There has been no official statement from HMRC to say they cannot. HMRC can make special allowances in circumstances such as these.
As you will see from my previous posts, I rang them and was advised to wait for any response that HUR or HL receive to their question.
I can only surmise from your refusal to post the contents of the email, backing up your claim, that the email does not exist. It's very easy to anonymise an email to maintain privacy. Therefore I will continue to take everything you post with a grain of salt.
Kever - Please can you post the email that your received?
As it stands neither HUR/Prax or my ISA provider, HL, have confirmed that the DCUs cannot be held in an ISA. Therefore until there is confirmation from HUR, provider or HMRC no-one should be assuming anything.
Finally had a phone call from a very nice lady at HMRC.
End result: "Wait and see what response HUR and your ISA provider get from HMRC specialists in regards to an exemption to permit these to be held in an ISA"
So ISA holders are no further forward and the decision could come after the court hearing when said ISA holders would be locked in to the DCU holding with no way out without possibly incurring CGT.
I called HMRC yesterday and after explaining the situation to 3 different people was told that they would need to check further and would call me back today. I'm still not convinced that they understood the situation.
This is a complete mess for PIs who hold HUR in an ISA and I cant see a definitive answer being provided before the court date
Anyone thinking of attending the GM please remember there is a train strike so travelling into London will be hindered.
Interesting that we cant vote on the CFO. Is this usually the case?
What does an investor need to do in order to attend in person?
How after the two recent RNS are we further down than where we were last week. This share never ceases to test my blood pressure. :-)
My B/E was 5.8. When it hit 12.3 I cashed out my initial investment. The rest is in to ride this rollercoaster for the long term.
Having been looking at a 95% loss for a long time I decided to take my original stake out this morning leaving me with 50% to see what happens. This has been one crazy rollercoaster and I'm happier to ride it now with 'play money'
Examples of name calling just from this morning:
" selfish little sh*t"
" intellectually challenged, small minded; and nasty with it"
"harvey - stupid"
So you are rude and comments like this infer anger/frustration, so I'm not lying. You asked my to stop and I have asked you the same. The fact that you continue and are fully onboard with effectively shipping people to camps (or islands for daltry) would indicate that you are quite aligned with the 'moron' you have named below. So, again, I ask you to stop. I have already provided gov evidence that the vast majority of admissions and deaths are vaxxed people, please stop posting false information and wanting people who have, for what ever reason, decided to not have this jab be ostracized from society. You wouldn't/haven't demanded it of other more infectious diseases why one with an IFR of less than flu?
@beetlebum...zzzzz so very tiring rolling out those tropes.
