Independent thinkers often get ridiculed by the prevailing masses, it's no different in the investing realm. Had to be a brave soul full of conviction to swim against the tide of the herd pack here.

Very ironically, my viewpoint on what's responsible for global warming is in support of science's climate change, but pragmatically I'm in total opposition against blaming the oil industry entirely for the cause of it. It's much too simplistic just to blame on the factor of greenhouse gases alone as the biggest cause of global warming. The correction of the matter will take time to remedy the problem, if it ever does in the long run that is.

More like ill informed on how climate change is really understood as most information about it is taken from prevailing environmental research papers that support the agenda for renewables, but those with dissenting analysises were largely put aside here. The zealots took things to the next level into the stratosphere by wrecking havoc in the O@G industry, and nailing it as the ultimate scapegoat of environmental destruction due to the massive greenhouse gasses produced by their critically but necessary production for a nation's energy security. It's unrealistic and immature of them to be acting with such a degree of anathema over the issue while largely ignoring the fact that their quality of life depends very much on the need for energy that helps to make their lives more comfortable in the modern world.

Yes human activities are the culprit of a deteriorating earthly environment, no doubt about it. But the fact is, every civilization on earth wants to move and progress forward in their development better. And no civilization on earth will stand still and not develop themselves further as time goes on in search of greater advancement in their lives.

And the price that we pay for that would be the tremendous loss of Earth's natural environmental balance overtime as her resources are needed to be tapped upon and utilized to make that advancement progress further into the future. That is, unless mankind worldwide could abstain from straining Mother Nature further by ceasing all developmental activities and give her a complete healing rest from all the damage done to her body ( fracking, deforestation, industrial waste pollution channeled into the sea etc ), only then the Earth could heal and recover back to it's natural environmental balance once again. Then there'll be less frequency of Nature's destructive forces ravaging the planet's inhabitants more often. Solving the problem of greenhouse gases only contributes a small part of the solution to global warming and isn't sufficient enough to restore the natural balance of Earth significantly to see a vast improvement environmentally on a global scale of things.

Hi Zorba. Feel free to disagree, but I didn't presume that the sun would have done us bad here as you'd mentioned. I said that the more heat is produced in the future from higher electricity demand moving forward, the global warming would be at it's usual level of intensity or higher decades from now with or without the presence of heat trapping gases in the atmosphere. It'll be interesting to see by 2050 onwards whether the world gets substantially cooler by even 5 degrees downward, of which I doubt it imo. It's not just having little to no heat trapping gasses in the atmosphere as the magic bullet to reduce global warming I believe, but there are many other contributing factors too such as increasing waste pollution, mass deforestation to make way for future developments that will have less greenery absorbing the CO2 etc and have heat generated on earth lingering around instead of being released radially out into the atmosphere. I'm not as convinced that all heat generated on the earth could all just be radiated out towards the atmosphere just like that with 100% net zero carbons policy implementation. The fossil fuels heat generation at current is simply replaced by increased use of renewables where electricity is the main power source produced to run more and more of everything in the future. And the heat byproduct generated will still be there always and increasing further the more electrical demand is needed over the years. At best it'll be a slight cool down of earth without any heat trapping gasses, but I'm not convinced that global warming is that easy to resolve just like that by itself without also addressing the other environmental issues in example mentioned above that compound into the global warming factor equation. I believe there's more than one factor front to deal with besides eliminating greenhouse gases in order to alleviate the severity of global warming substantially. Warmth on earth can never be completely eliminated for sure.

Anything energy wise that is used to power up things will always cause heat as the byproduct. So while environmentalists can argue about fossil fuels producing heat trapping CO2s in the ozone atmosphere, and therefore we need to reduce such usage to zero and get it from renewables instead, they'd conveniently forgotten that wind, solar, water and nuclear power that's used to generate electricity to move things in the future is going to produce even more heat (albeit carbon free) that will be released into the atmosphere still as electricity demand increases in the future. An electric car doesn't stay cool when it is running on the road. Data centers running 24 hours a day doesn't stay cool even when it's power running infrastructure is sustained by renewables, and they need a reliable coolant to channel away the massive heat that they produce. Likewise too for all appliances at home that'll be powered be renewable energy here moving forward. Even a refrigerator gets hot externally when touched , though the interior may be cold.

Unless all world civilization developments come to a complete standstill which is impossible, the earth will just get warmer in the future, with or without CO2 getting trapped in the atmosphere.

Reducing CO2 into the atmosphere to zero would only slow down the global warming process but could never entirely avoid it altogether. The world is too sold on this misleading fact by the environmentalists who have no balanced perception of reality around them.

There's wave after wave of corporate buybacks at the 116p-117p level defending the SP. From what I'm seeing apparently its a head on collision with a heavy short sell here if I'm not mistaken, if anyone has a better view of what's happening SP wise I'm all ears. The buying can only go so far before it dwindles down in volume through time. Darn those shorts, they gotta go for real.

Not only to alleviate it's tax burdens, but also to preserve their cash pipelines better in fossil fuel pragmatic policy countries. It would be awkward for Labour to back down now from it's renewable friendly stance here after emphasizing it in successive meetings. They would be heavily ridiculed and criticised by the environmentalists all over for sure.

It would be a miracle for Mr.O@G to even obtain any kind of business relevant allowances at this point. If anything, a renewables friendly allowances would be the concession given by hmg. And most likely they would not budge on the EPL and increased taxation till 2030, as they needed the capital that's forced out of local O@G hands to fund their GBE corporation and make Captain Planet very proud of their nature friendly goals.

But unfortunately they are sold to their own green fantasy. And the reality of a potential domestic energy crisis plus a huge budget deficit shall await their folly in their die-hard renewable cause, that's if they push that agenda to the point of no return.

It's crazy that geopolitical tensions are ironically helping the oil prices to stay afloat in an otherwise drowning sea of shorts in the paper market and the anticipated Saudi oil flood in the physical markets that are expected to put more downward pressure on oil prices further. Good to know that SQZ's good production news stood independent of geopolitical factors, with it being just a tailwind to help lift up share prices of oil companies worldwide while the wind of war lasts in the Middle East.

Make a good overseas acquisition, move over from AIM to the main market and keep the current production running strong. The clock is ticking.

Wonderful explanation of reality surprised. That implies that local oil independents in the UK still have around 10-12 years of time, if better 15 years and above of a time window to sustain their fossil fuel profits before their earning pipelines drop down from there on. The data centers are huge energy guzzlers every second as they're active, and there's no way at present the current count of clean power production could keep up with such taxing of energy demand, let alone it's inherent intermittent factor unless mass landbanks of energy storage systems proportionate to renewable infrastructure count could compensate for that disadvantage. Or unless if nuclear power can come online quickly within a couple of years to substitute fossil fuel oils completely.

And I'm pretty sure they want to keep their good paying jobs intact and not let SQZ be bled dry and wilted by these green leeches. The bod had came too far to develop SQZ into one of the largest local O@G independents, and I don't think they'll want to waste their hardwork and effort thus far doing something impulsive and stupid to run the company aground, unless if they're that incompetent to keep a tight bottom line but I saw otherwise so far...so far.

Tailwind's oil assets are what I'm concerned about in light of future declining oil prices, despite the tax losses it brings that helps SQZ be able to eke out a decent bottom line for the next three years.

Liquid black gold is now an anathema to the UK govt, with natural gas coming in second behind the most hated fossil fuel in the Cabinet. Hence if SQZ still wants to play the crude oil business, venturing into developing countries will be a good start where they are still dependent on fossil fuels to accelerate their economy for at least 15 years or more.

I'm not sure of a better term to use, but 'national piety' towards a commie hmg has its limits if they act further to screw things up for the local O@G industry. Even the real commies have a better understanding of pragmatic capitalism than the green fanatics who are taking office now.

Well they seem to be taking their time in making careful business decisions from the way how their 'body language' to the shareholders would seem so. They have some time to make the right hit for LTHs while the energy transitioning is ongoing. The most ideal would be a timely acquisition overseas in developing countries who are still developing their energy security with fossil fuels usage majority while the value of the pound is going strong in their favor forex wise. No one from the board had sold of any shares internally and still holding onto them tight.

I'm more curious as to how would they plan to stay tight in UK or Europe when fossil fuels in the near future are getting dissed within five to ten years from now. Once the clarity of the outcome of October's speech becomes more clear, then they'll make the next move to chart the course of SQZ's future earnings pipeline.

Moreover Labour's current fiscal situation and it's iron clad intensity of renewables pursuit would make it more reluctant to remove the EPL/WFL threshold since they have nowhere else more lucrative to dip their hands into the tax cookie jar in order to fund their green energy agenda moving forward. It would be a miracle and a consolation relief for the UK O@G industry to be freed of the WFT/EPL shackles if the oil price were to drop below a certain point and hold it there at the low end for two quarters if I'm not mistaken. But I honestly wouldn't bank on it, but would loved to be surprised on some great news out of it.

More headwind challenges for UK O@G industry to take on apart from the madness of Labour energy policy, now that the oil shiekhs are going on reverse psychology to wrestle the title of fracking champion away from the United States. This oil conflict drama gets more intense as time goes on.

I believe there are heavy geopolitical stakes involved that's much unseen in public news in trying to bring down the price of oil as much as possible to the advantage of those who are wielding the reins of world economic power tight in their hands. Renewables agenda are pretty much a front to be taken advantage of in the scheme of things even as it presents a valid argument on climate change and global warming.

It may sound very conspiratorial, but it can't be helped imo that there's more than meets the eye beyond the ordinary surface of oil demand and supply economics news that's moving the oil market in the most peculiar way of things that technicals and fundamentals couldn't explain logically.

Mandated oil and gas production declines locally will necessitate more energy imports to cover the shortfall of immediate energy demand, which will most definitely cost billions of dollars annually ( or possibly monthly maybe in the near future ).

How in the world is Labour going to pay for additional energy imports of that sizable amount in the future while its collecting its much needed tax revenue from the O@G golden goose to kickstart Great British Energy Corp for future green investments that'd potentially costs hundreds of billion pounds in estimated infrastructure costs? George Soros already broke the Bank of England once, will Labour reattempt that same feat again in their own way to weaken the nation's finances and reserves? They need to get their calculators and start counting the costs of their actions pronto before the UK's coffers reached the cliff edge precipitously.

That's exactly what it should be for the good outcome of UK's energy security. But unfortunately Labour goons are not wearing the same eye glasses of realism as everyone else being pragmatic about the energy policy situation.

They are wearing rosy and rainbow glasses instead looking forward into their green utopia future.
