Magnum, my preferred situation would be for Wyloo to buyout both Telfer and NCM's 70% share of Hav. This would mean we would have a supportive senior partner in the JV and cement Wyloo's foray into gold mining investment.

As part of this deal, I wonder whether we could give Wyloo right of first refusal for JVs across the rest of the Paterson portfolio should GGP find a viable resource that they would then seek a partner for funding and development, providing the find was close enough to Telfer for the ore to be processed there economically. Also bearing in mind that Wyloo as a major shareholder would already theoretically own a % of any find at one of our 100% owned licenses.

There would have to be a kicker of sorts (e.g. the one stated above) for Wyloo otherwise they will be left holding the can once Hav had run its course for the decommission costs associated with Telfer.

I think this would be a brilliant outcome for GGP holders, but might be a little fanciful!

Hi Bamps, I've noticed in your posts of late the points you've been making about the relatively recent drilling results, particularly the high grade pods in the Northern Breccia, and the implications they will have for the mine plan. (I think you phrased it as the planning for this is still being planned, or words to that effect!)

It is due to this, and the inflationary pressures referred to in the NCM document, that I think we will use the Aussie listing to raise funds so that when the FS is published we are not suddenly on the hook for funds that we might not have at time of publication.

Is this a fair reading of the situation and a fair assumption to make?

I think there a couple of interesting tidbits here when we sum together everything that has been shared. Setting aside the website incompetence (laughable) and what is likely to be some bad news regarding Cuzzobbo, we've been told that:

1) Scott is not bothered about the political situation as both candidates are supportive of development. His attitude comes across a little blasé but we'll roll with it.

2) The outcomes of the strategic review have been delayed, or the process has been slowed due to the political situation.

Can we infer that, if Scott/SOLG doesn't see politics as an issue, that the delay to the SR has come about due to political concerns from a third party and their future involvement with Cascabel/SOLG/the regional portfolio? It's hard to square the circle otherwise in my mind.

Finally, I agree with Quady that the "strategic partner" language is definitely more of a nod to a JV than a buyout.

P.S. Nal, if you think Shippy has fabricated the post, I'm sure you'll be sending an email to the company stating as much, as misrepresenting the company's position on these issues would warrant action. Though I do recall last time you tried to send a basic email to SOLG you were incapable of doing so. Thicker than two short ones you are matey.

Morning add, to be fair there have been questions aired over corporate governance from both sides (BHP/NCM and the likes of Berry St) for several years now. I'm surprised that NCM felt comfortable publishing that in an official document though. I guess the missing 4.6m which somehow has become an industry reference point doesn't help our case either.

I also thought the point on funding was an odd one given we are currently fully funded (albeit on the basis we do absolutely nothing). Is this tacit admission from one if our major shareholders that we don't have a hope in hell of raising funds to build a mine?

When comparing Wafi-Golpu to Cascabel:

This is well worth a read. Particularly pages 281 - 284. Telfer is worthless without development at Havieron (Scenarios 1 and 2) and there are some interesting insights on the valuation of Hav overall as well as the 5% option debacle.

I fully support your point on the exec team SD has assembled. Their global networks will be coming into play in a big way at the moment.

Chippy, please do not twist my words to make an unnecessary dig at me. Of course Hav will have been discussed at various points throughout the process. My view is that Newcrest have adopted a BAU approach to work at Hav and will not be making any further major decisions or strategic choices. This includes publishing a revised MRE. Whether they made this decision unilaterally or in conjunction with Newmont we don't know.

My point is that engagement with Newmont (from our side) will likely be limited until the deal is done, and that Newmont are on record stating that their priority will be integrating the existing Tier 1 operational mines they are acquiring. This is why there is uncertainty (as per Shaun's note) around what will play out here, and when.

I think we are at risk of overstating our importance in relation to this merger. If there is a game of chess afoot we are currently the only ones playing it. SD and the team will be preparing plans for the various different scenarios that might play out post completion. We are a £300m MCAP company and junior partner in a JV with the company being acquired. Executives at both firms are simply not going to be interested in discussing Havieron with a vote on a $19.2bn deal approx. 6 weeks away.

We will be reacting to whatever is decided by the bigger boys and have to hope that Shaun and the team are ready for all outcomes.

So many on here continually playing the man not the ball. Call me a shifty character all you want, I'm an investor sitting on a 40% loss and frustrated at the decline in SP and uncertainty. I attend townhalls when I can and have no hidden motive here, I am just sharing my thoughts on what I expect to play out over the next few weeks.

Go back to arguing with the resident idiots ace as you spend so much of your time doing if you're not going to add anything of value.

StarBright @ 16.34 - this is where my head is at too. And judging by the SP, as are other participants in the market. The ASX listing is the tidiest way to do this, giving the two main reasons you've pointed out as further justification (revised mine plan & inflationary pressures).

I don't see the banks being as willing to led ££ on such favourable terms given new interest rate environment & ongoing uncertainty about 1) when this will be built and 2) who the senior partner in the JV will be.

As mentioned earlier the writing has been on the wall ever since the leak.

Max, sadly agree. Tough times for holders but the writing has been on the wall since the leak in the Aussie press and the non-denial from the company. I will look to add and average down post placing as I'm sure we'll be able to buy at that price or lower on the open market.

Well aware of the Wyloo and GGP connection, but Wyloo are not FMG, and anyone across the GGP story would not be writing the garbage you did below about FMG wanting to "bleed GGP dry" or "dilute them further". If you think Wyloo as a major GGP shareholder would want to go down those paths, you really are howling at the moon.

As I said, stick to the long winded speculation/nonsense on SOLG, you're good at that.

1) FMG have nothing to do with GGP.

2) I bought back in to SOLG last week ~15% lower than when I sold. At the time you claimed I'd be buying back in around this time at a much higher price.

Fort, best stick to the mindless ramping of SOLG rather than waffle on about shares and companies you clearly know nothing about.

NAL - just a word of advice old bean, perhaps investing in exploration companies isn't for you if it always ends up in disaster?

Previously you've stated that the risk here outweighs the potential upside, so how about you do the sensible thing, sell up and leave us all in peace?

I'm also rather dubious Bozi.. that being said, I've dipped a toe back in here this morning. I said earlier this year (much to the derision of Fort & co) that nothing would happen here until late Q3/early Q4.

Let's get that IPA done before the changing of the guard.
