I disagree with the partial sale idea. Nobody is wanting to share this asset.
In my opinion, there will have been a bidding war, with percentages of the total value being offered, rather than a lump sum amount, as there would be so many unknowns in price per ounce and how many ounces in the ground. This would then explain the length of time taken, as they need to survey the ground by an independent company to ensure transparency. The winner (say they offered 10% of the total value announced) will then sign the contract for the final amount once the DFS comes through.
It all comes down to confirming the volume of metals. 40moz palladium and X amount of Rhodium could end up with $94bn+X, 10% of which would be very nice.......
If only Ian took %ages as a guess
