This trip sounds a lot more promising and with Powerchina - the state run company - eager to get started on the mine I have no doubt Phulbari will be front and center of the any conversation!

GCM have a habit of leaving it to the very last min - so hopefully that will give us as mush time as possible for the Election to at least be announced.

China allowed her to carry on just enough to dig a hole so deep that neither her or India will be able to climb out of.

So much dirt will be uncovered with the corruption and China will be the only partner to trust going forward.

the youth who will protest against Phulbari.... what are the options they will present instead?

If GREEN and CLIMATE is the highest priority then what will happen?

Simply shut down all existing fossil fuel plants immediately ?

spin up a billion solar panels or wind farms just to keep the lights on ??

or how about leaving Phulbari coal in the ground and just continue to import from... ??? india.... more dirty coal at super high prices... basically no different to what Hasina was doing?

the answer.... there is NO other option !

In order for Bangladesh to climb out of its economic and energy crisis before it gets worse, Bangladesh is dependent on fossil fuel for the foreseeable and the best and cleanest version of this is Phulbari.

Everyone is screaming the obvious now...from the Energy minster to the news outlets - only Hasina was the one saying no and she is gone.

This time things ARE VERY different.

The problem with Hasina was that out of SPITE and due to corruption from India she was NEVER going to give the go ahead for Phulbari ... never and nothing would have ever changed her mind.

Sure the youth will have their say and thoughts on Climate and Green issues - which is great - but the REALITY Is they also need JOBS, they need ENERGY, they need an ECONOMY - being green is important but not the ONLY issue.

With the cleanest coal, the offsetting with a Solar park - the promise of new jobs , boost to economy and all the other benefits the youth and general public can be won over.... unlike Hasina who made NO compromise because she was simply corrupt to the core !

So yes.... things are VERY different now.

I think most of us have been more interested and knowledgeable in Bangla politics than our own for the past 15 years LOL

This is massive - and as i posted earlier this isn't a shock sudden departure of Hasina - whilst it might look that way - this has been orchestrated - planned - and so has the new Gov that will take shape very very soon.

There is no doubt in my mind this has all been orchestrated - that's how Governments and people in Power are removed. Various different parties with vested and aligned interests work together to plan their removal.

It takes time - but in the end... anyone can be toppled.

Hasina's time was up and it was all about creating the perfect storm.

She ran the country into the ground and become Modis (india) puppet.

China, the rest of the world, the IMF and more importantly the people of Bangla had enough.

The opposition - whilst under house arrest - still has huge influence and connections - they weren't just sitting around watching Netflix thats for sure !

IMF refused any further bail out.

China cancelled their loans

Forex hit the floor

Energy sector in crisis

Economy in down turn

And then boom - riots started as soon as she arrived back...

This was all planned and Tang knew.

Hence the 18 month funding and the share price being capped to remain under the radar until mission is complete.

The next few weeks and months are going to be the most exciting in GCMs (recent) History as we really take off.

Things are different now...with Hasina finally gone.... things are VERY different !

I have to say.... i cant believe the day has come where we (GCM) have managed to outlast her ( I don't even want to say her name anymore lol).... with NO money and NO revenue income ....all the obstacles she put in our way... the hired rent a mob and we are still HERE and she .... she has GONE !!!!

When they said we will be drinking Champagne at the AGM.... maybe this is what they meant ! LOL

Thank F she is finally out the way... make no mistake this is fantastic news for the Bangladeshi people and us...the road is now clear ahead !

GCM are funded for 12 -16 months

The only thing that was ever stopping this going ahead - has now been ran out of the country

The countries economy is in tatters and so is its energy situation

The only answer still is Phulbari

Bangladesh must now show the world it means business once again

Starting this mega project and rebuilding both its finance and energy sector will be a big step towards that

And showing the world it can honour is international business contracts

And having NO ties with India will be a massive plus for this project - India will be seen as part of the old problem

China will be seen as the way forward.

I have absolutely no doubt that these riots were orchestrated to ensure her removal so that things can start to change.

And it sure wasnt india that was behind it.

Its going to be a rocky few weeks ahead as we wait for more news... but we are in the perfect storm for GL to finally happen.

Not only has she disgraced herself she had disgraced her family legacy.

Years of siphoning off Bangladeshes money to India and finally caught up with her and she has had to feel in utter disgrace. No more will he or her family be able to rule.

No doubt once the new gov gets in, more of her mess and corruption will be uncovered and the world will see her for what she is.

It will also show the dodgy links with India which means China will be the more favourable partner going forward.

And the powerchina / phulbari deal will be at the heart of it.

Remeber we are financed for at least another year from now…. The dust will settle and the GL will come.

Those big buys were people in the know who knew her time was coming and change was afoot.

Whilst her fleeing and resigning is brilliant news for Bangla and lets face it - us shareholders....

in the short time the share price will drift - as we need time for the dust to settle - and await who will take control

but ultimately this is brilliant news

GCM secures funds for 18 months - as i posted a few days ago - why secure funds for so long when the share price was so low? - did they know she was on the way out and that they needed time to settle and the GL ??

China and India have been fighting over who will take control of Bangla -

We all knew Hasina was currupt and in cahoots with India - and this was the REAL reason why GCM never got the GL

Hence she has scuttled off to India doing a runner.

So now it looks like China will be the bigger influence - pulling the plug on loans was the deal breaker that sent her back home very humbled.

Lets hope whoever has been buying and investing knows more than we do and this finally is our time !

is that why the single reason this project has been mothballed for over 15 years is due to one woman and her political promise ?

One of Hasinas (many) mistakes was to pull the plug on the internet and then order open fire and curfews.

She has now completely and forever wiped out any support from a whole generation - and their supporters - parents etc.

Her and her party are starting to show their non democratic dictatorship ruling and its not looking good.

Some on here may say GL is coming soon just because Mining the Coal makes total sense.

I know it makes sense - thats why im invested here -

China knows it makes sense thats why they are partnered with us

But making sense is not what is happening in Bangladesh !

The GL will not happen whilst this massive unrest is going on.

We can only hope that she is finally outed and that change comes in and giving the GL will be part of the new guards manifesto.

Otherwise this will drag on and on and I just hope Power China have the patience to stay on board.

Good Luck all - back in Jan we were told "champagne at the next AGM"..... well there is only 6 months left for that and only 12 months till we run out of cash.

This recent protest is huge …. There is a huge moment and awakening in Bangladesh over the dictatorship of Hasinas rule.

Take one look on social media and hashtags like stepdownhasina are trending.

For GCM this means the green light is now very unlikely to happen anytime soon, not whilst this continues.

Could this be the end of Hasinas ruling ? Who knows

One thing that made me think … why did GcM raise enough money for 18 months ?

If they thought the GL was coming very soon ? They could have raised far less just to get by and then raise more after the GL at a much hight share price.

Why did China reverse its funding….

Big turmoil in Bangladesh and may be hasına is finally on her way out ?

Who on earth is selling their GCM shares now.... at this moment in time when we are so close.

Closer than we have ever been.

We have been broke and skint... .we have been without nomads... several times.

We had the PM say loud she will never mine open pit ... we were told our plan didnt meet environment regs..... we had SOOO many hurdles... soo many reasons to sell up in the past.... and much higher share price to get out.

So who on earth is still holding GCM shares right now... today... with so much good news.... funds for 18 months, some of the biggest partners (Power China) - contract deals signed and waiting to go.... Bangla almost begging for our coal.... so who is selling now?............ i just dont get it......if no one sells..... with all these "buys" we should be flying.... so who and why is anyone selling anything at these super low prices ??

Anyway - its now July - back in Jan it was supposed to be done by 1st qtr... now we are waiting for the China visit in 2 weeks.....even I have waited long enough but im still not selling ! LOL

I’m in the same boat …. I just cannot see what the hold up is ….

But I keep thinking if there was no chance this was happening why would power china still be with us ?

If GCM was the stopper surly power china would just offer a buy out and get the project approved without us ?

Bangal is clearly soo desperate … why waste so much time it’s June now !

As I said I agree… the coal from Phulbari will be mined and we are sooo close.

Ive stayed off these boards after we got the funding cleared which keeps us going for 18 months…. Hopefully we won’t be waiting much longer now !
