Doesn't smell Oliveira this. Shorting mercilessly, like in a you shall not pass 69p sort of way. If it indeed does close at 59p they'll pop many bubblies at Annabel's this evening. FCA ought to fine them for late disclosure of reportable shorts tbh. This has got to be more than 900k shares for each of them. Volume's about to cross 4 million now for crying out loud.
I'm sure many here have noticed but those 800 trades became first 1,600s and now 3,200s today. Feels like shorter appetite as too small for Oliveira imo, and there's the evident desire to smash and suppress the 57p bid. Something's got to show on disclosed short exposures very soon. Daily volumes are considerably above average especially the last few days.
What wouldn't I do to be only 14k down? Count your blessings fella
Capitulation, yes. It's been their target for months now. The thing is, they're gunning for fed up stakeholders to sell so unless we see massive transactions after-hours (in the millions) this ship won't budge.
I was thinking the same a minute ago. With that conviction, I really don't think he's closed any of that big short, and average must've come down a lot. Over-confident to say the least.
Let him increase his short exposure at 70. He did the same at 66, then 68. Once we have the jump process, he'll have to make a hard decision.
Once I have enough liquidity, I'll go after this shorter and squash it like a bug! Every single time I see it. Any day, all day!
Well done Sangi. I would if I could too alas all in already. 65p holding up, just about.
Silver lining: WorldQuant LLC's not made a significant multi-day whopper out of this slide even though they've been short-biased. With all those algo bots and whatnot. Lame ducks.
Amphiprion - We'll either get Oliveira's TR-1 or increase in shorts. This much volume's got to be busting the reportable limits on either end. Either today or tomorrow I reckon.
All I know is if we close at 72p today, it'd take a 39% rally to get us to £1. And the volumes at 72p as I type are humongous. It's like musical chairs. Someone knows how to keep the lid on their greed and closing shorts aggressively.
Sanji - So if it is indeed our man Oliveira distress-selling (and it is looking likely to be the case to me as nothing shows on big shorts, day after day, printing these big daily volumes) then how much would he need to liquidate I wonder. 73p holding up for now, getting hit hard though. And I'd love to know that quant fund's target bottom. This much greed.
So am I right in assuming that we should we expecting a climb back up to £1 over the coming days/weeks?
I stand corrected Dave. Miscalc on my part. 900k shares it is fella.
Multiple short positions being built, and in 4d atm, only over 9 million shares (roughly) held under a name are reportable. Corresponds to 0.5% of the entire issued capital. They are still selling with aggression (esp that smashing of the 77.60 bid at 16:11 today), with utter arrogance. Their hope is either break the will of some shakeable stakeholders (not any of us here, I don't think) or worse, publish a research note out and actively create panic and attempt to drive the price down. Either way, sp doesn't seem to have bottomed out yet unfortunately. There are also intraday shorters who've been scalping successfully in the last few months. Interesting times ahead but not for the faint-hearted.
Algo wars Sangi. They're in the sweet land of no fees.
crl - If by some miracle we get a t/o rns and stock opens up at 150+ and we all are in the money, I strongly suggest we meet up in person somewhere to celebrate. I wonder how many here'll turn up but I personally will down pint after pint, smashing tankards, that's for sure! You could be my perfect drinking buddy. Every share you've ever mentioned I've traded in varying volumes over the years. And pay no mind to critics. Messages on chatboards can be glib, and misinterpreted. Hopingmore was probably surprised to hear you top up at this late stage in 4d's game, not knowing where the bottom is. Keep up your candid spirit, and share generously as you always do. I for one enjoy every single post of yours immensely. Sharing is caring pal.
crl - I do remember that POG drop vividly as I was in and out all the time leading up to the 25:1. Seemingly, gold being a hedge against all (at the time, not now) was my temptation. I could've easily been there with you for the whole ride though my sizes those days were a tenth of your exposure. It was sheer luck I didn't buy and hold it that week. On the oil side COP, PMO, TLW, PANR, AFR (all painful, and the loss to the last one hurt real bad), NRK (another big loss), CLLN, ... long list. Hence my gradual move into other growth areas like biotech. Seems we've given the market (read smart money) much already. Paid our dues. Time to recoup it all back and then some. The hardest bit's behind. You've survived it all, and are still standing.
I tell you one thing though. As soon as I reach full liquidity in my portfolio (this year or next), I will go after disclosed shorts and nothing else. We could maybe time it reddit-style. I'm even considering learning Python and do it "their" style. Not a fan of spoofing, and I'll happily hit their momentary asks and drive SP up every day I see their algos active, and trigger forced close. See if they like that. If I get it right most of the times in 4D, I'll die a happy man. Under no illusion - it is us against them. And I ain't ever switching sides.
crl - 110 b/e here, and yes, big size too. I might've married the stock for life and not even know it yet. Everyday feels like locking horns with WQ and it's taking its toll if I'm honest. But I've yet to sell a single share at a loss in this trade. Not gonna happen. I'd rather write off the whole stake than take a loss in 4D, no matter how small. If however we get diluted, say a year from now, that can't be helped. Truly though, I don't think so many quarters will pass without significant findings and RNS. GLA
or Agony Ends Finally or some derivation thereof. Looks like signalling.
