Was slightly underwhelmed with roots progress last year after a really encouraging 1st year.

However, things seems to be moving in the right direction with additional shelf space at Boots (makes it look a lot more visibly appealing on shelves), marketing spend increasing and also launch into South Africa.

It is not a cheap product - £10 for a 250ml bottle (as opposed to most rivals which are c£5 for 500ml - so 4 times the price).
I use it and really like it but I've started to re-use my other shampoos too so guessing others do the same which may account for the slow down in H2 this year as opposed to last.

In addition to SA think there are plans to go into India too.

no it's definitely not - check the ingredients. I remember getting quite excited about this a few years ago but unfortunately Cadbury's have managed it without any need for 3rd party ingredients it would appear

yes good interview and reassuring that other than a delay on a couple of big deals things are progressing well and product offering and customer base are expanding.
However, saying H2 rev will be higher than H1 is a little vague - this company needs to be increasing rev and getting to EBITDA positive asap. Making 7 figures losses is unsustainable.
Unfortunately topped up yesterday so will sit and watch before buying any more

yes AGM statement should be interesting. Last year it was brief but previous year we had a full trading statement.

At a minimum it would be good to know progress versus this time last year as numbers should be a lot better (c50% plus higher as H1 was so poor last year). I will be disappointed if we just get a 'performing in line with expectations' update although with earning so heavily weighted in H2 it may be tempting to do so.

Progress on distribution deals and new product would also be great - may not be quite ready to announce new product yet but seems the ideal time.

For Roots I see facebook is featuring a TOWIE actor using the product so it looks like marketing is being kicked off here to accompany doubling of shelf space at Boots. Still think Roots should focus more on the unisex aspect of product, seems too female centric to me. I use it and like it but all before and after shots are women. I have raised this with company but just got the usual replies

Can see how cash position can be healthy when you state EBITDA will be c-£2m for year (albeit less than previous year).

Long term this is a great company , short term I think there may be pain.

yes company is moving forward but clearly Q4 will be poor and so cash position is now a massive concern. -£1m EBITDA is not good when you have limited cash in bank.

Great little company but needs to start generating cash.

On the positive big companies make decisions slowly so these things do happen. The products are great and that is not the issue

yes very positive update - and of course successful completion of phase 3 is almost guaranteed as company has already undertaken this testing once

yes, nice to see a bit of a rise. Still think this should be c£1 a share so anything below 80p is a steal IMHO.
All the potential bad news is priced in and none of the growth potential.
Also not just a retail stock and has no debts. Profit after tax expected to grow by 50% this year too on reasonably conservative forecasts

With this in mind - the May 2017 Prolong presentation issued by IDP mentioned cross selling opportunities between Prolong and Headmaster/Growlase . Hopefully with Prolong sales starting to increase (plus improved DTC strategy) this might kick in too, albeit from a much lower base.
