I can't disagree with your thoughts Alex. As a newby I decided to do a bit of digging in the RNS' of a few AIM companies to get more of a feel. Most that I looked at tended to issue an RNS for relevant news only i.e. one occasionally for financial updates or holdings news, although I did find one company that issued RNS' like a calendar - virtually one per day! One of my other AIM investments issued them only when there was an update to their drilling regime and these were about one per month or so, although even they issued three in one day last week! Horses for courses. I'm virtually at my stop-loss limit with SEE but it isn't placed and neither will it be placed, I'm in for the long term having been in for nearly a year.

Kevin, I concur, although I did say the word 'potential', I didn't say definite'. However, your previous post seemed to imply that this was not even potential - 'Eland are a growth company with an end game of selling up as quick as possible. Its unlikely they will ever pay a dividend.' I note that you said 'unlikely' rather once again 'definitely', but you were pretty emphatic.

I was going to say, but you corrected before I could. Very good dividend policy and I received a very nice dividend not so long ago that allowed me to reinvest into it. Solid company that looks good for the foreseeable future.

Have we suddenly struck gold?

There are so many factors within this industry that can make or break a company including: oil price, regulatory decisions, bad wells and so on. At the moment the movement is in the right direction and the company is very well run. Timescales are impossible to predict because of the unknowns but if the progress carried on as it is I would like think that this could be in the 3-5 years, maybe sooner if the good news gets even better.

Agreed, the figures look very encouraging. However the SP isn't going to spike massively until Eland start to make a profit and pay dividends, even if it is only small. I'm happy to wait for those days as I can see this company progressing much further.

Typical day at the office. I've one up 7-8% (IQE) and one down 7-8% (SEE) LOL. Both fluctuating wildly. Love it.

Shorting is all part of the investing process whether good or bad. However, my main concern with situations like this is if the price of a well run company with excellent fundamentals is driven down so low, it could in theory be made a subject of a predatory takeover bid where a very low price is offered to the detriment of the shareholders. I appreciate that the shareholders would have the final say on such a bid but it is usually the major shareholders who hold all the cards, not the minors such as myself.

Kevin. I agree that the Niger Delta Avengers are not interested in Eland per-se, but any disruption to the Majors in the area would probably still have a knock-on affect to the minors too, as it did in 2016/2017.

bigspike, doesn't the Forcados pipeline belong to an offshore major (Shell)? Because if so, that was hit last time which affected the Eland shares and their profits by quite a bit unfortunately.

I've top sliced mine but looking to come back in if the situation improves. There is so much going for the company.
