Yes, the reduced dividend has made BP unattractive.
Many big pensions and funds sit on BP for the 'guaranteed' and regular dividend.
Cutting the dividend, has cut the ties with some of the big boys.
If (big if), they meaningfully increased the divi, the SP would soar.
Share buy-backs only benefit those on incentive schemes (management!!).

This, broadly, is a good forum, with some very knowledgeable posters (not me!), however on occasions there is too much unnecessary noise, and that can result in the valuable message getting lost.

Hence why LSE are showing that date.

RMS did successfully request an extension.

When learning French, at school, i had no problem getting all the letters in the wrong order, and failed spectacularly .

I think the market is looking well beyond the current covid situation.
We have to pay for covid in the near/medium/long term.
That is going to be extremely expensive, and the market is reflecting this.
Higher taxes, higher interest rates, will impact corporate profitability.
Forget covid, look at 2 to 3 years ahead.
