Just for fun I plugged US$11,000 / tonne into my spreadsheet, which I think would equate to around US$9,000 / tonne in revenue accounting for sulphide concentrates plus cathode. At 1,000 tonnes / month production we would be generating US$55 million a year in gross earnings.

Hmmm, so if WonkeyDonkey is correct that Arc have a Tier 1 copper deposit in their licenses what’s it now worth at US$11,000 / tonne?

Apologies, it was stated in December that:

"· Jubilee has the capability to construct and commission all modular copper units within a 12-month period and aims to commence within Q1 CY2024."

So they may or may not have started 🤔

They did say that the Waste Rock project was expected to kick off in Q1 CY24 but they didn’t say that module construction would start then (unless I’m mistaken). There’s work to do on surveying the site and defining the resource which is presumably going on now. I’m not expecting construction on those modules to commence until later this year, maybe after the Thutse module construction is completed. That’s unless the manufacturer is planning to increase production capacity.

Yes I think we can safely assume the placing shares have been rinsed through now... all we need is a little positive news to get things moving again.

It’s reminded me of the fact that Leon was due to visit Zambia / Ndola at around the same time as the Roasties. Was he visiting to see Roan being ramped up? It would fit with those timelines.

Donkeys are not renowned for being smart but even so that is the dumbest statement I’ve read today and thats saying a lot when you see the general level of discourse on these boards.

Well spotted Ant, if they have kept to that timeline then you might assume ramp up is underway. Personally I think they will wait until they are sure everything is running as expected before releasing news, just in case of any gremlins in the system.

Maybe they could RNS the tracking code for the delayed parts and people can track it in real time if they want 😉

We were told just under a month ago that there had been a projected 6 week delay on the delivery of these key components so no reason to assume they are already on site.... hopefully soon though.

Interesting news from Anglo this morning. Regardless whether they get taken over or not it looks like they plan to divest Amplats and DeBeers. A bit of a kick in the teeth for the ANC government just before elections.

I think it's just a matter of emphasis. When the PGM basket was generating the majority of the earnings it was natural to market Jubilee as a PGM producer first and foremost. Now the PGM basket is weak and they are rapidly expanding into higher margin chrome, it natural to pitch jubilee as a chrome producer with PGM's as a nice by-product.

Nothing wrong with generating some decent PR, we saw what it did to the SP yesterday when it had been drifting down on no news. We have been told that Roan is now fully constructed and just awaiting these delayed electrical components so barring any further delays hopefully we will see news on that front in the coming weeks.

I think that reference to "Southern Africa" is probably the best we could hope for. They couldn't exactly say we think we might be onto something big in Zambia without hard evidence to back it up but in my view that's what they are suggesting.

Interesting strategy shift for Anglo in their RNS this morning, focusing on copper, iron ore and crop nutrients. It was noticeable that several times it referred to ‘Southern Africa’ rather than South Africa where the iron ore business is…. Read it for yourself

Good to see them starting to step up the game a bit in showcasing the business, hopefully there's one to come on Roan before too long.
