RE: Plenty on here with much to say so let's see if they have the courage to pose some meaningful questions for the Webinar2 Jun 2025 13:33
Hi Rob, the difference is obvious surely ? If you sold your Omi shares on the way down and re bought them half price you would have twice as many shares for the same cash.
Yes I am adding shares and re bought previously because I believe there is a good chance of significantly higher prices. Is it nailed on? No but that is investing or gambling.
The reason I try to keep my average low is because even a 2 p rise is more than half a bag so I don’t want or need to be relying on 30/40 p for a decent return. That’s 11 p which is very doable. 15 p is lovely, anything more will be magic ! Some may question my average due to an inability to actually calculate one but that’s not my problem.
So I am positive regarding my investment just not impressed with much of the posting here. What are the doubts you refer to specifically? If you were here 5 years ago you remember my “negative posts” regarding the benefits of majors, the ludicrous valuations that 5 years later are miles off , petro getting elected. Effect on our investment. Forecasts of timescale for deal finalising and drilling timetable. When the 2 m would run out. Two placing a a last year. That’s negative?? No it’s not it’s realistic and in the fullness of time proved correct. It’s called using ones loaf! I banked a 100% profit over a year and a half ago and am currently up around 150% .
Obviously I could have banked a far far bigger profit if I had bailed out in 30 s or 20s so lesson there for moi!
Obviously one’s availability to free cash affects how you invest. Or can do. I have some free cash but basically try to make my pf do the heavy lifting rather than new cash which has a baring on how I invest.
