I am told that the brokers look ahead at future events rather than today's events - looming over the BOD is the FCA investigation which may turn up fraud in the books of account and a heavy fine for MTRO and that is probably what worries the brokers more than the RI

Norway's Sovereign Wealth Fund - the biggest in the world - lost £40 billion last year trading equities - seems like the high and mighty are suffering at the same rate as us PIs

It would be foolish to announce a RI while the SP is plunging down - WEIR announced their big RI at a time that the SP was well below the RI price - the brokers had to buy 73% of the RI at a high price to absorb the shares - brokers NOT happy to lose so much cash on a RI guarantee. Better that MTRO BOD waits until the carnage is over then pitches the RI at a low SP to attract more investment.

We must be near the bottom SP now - shades of Quindell that went from MCAP £2.5 billion to MCAP £200 million in just a few weeks !

The govt cannot allow MTRO to collapse as it would pull down the other inter dependent banks

Shorting etc has cost Warren Buffett $35 billion in losses in 2018 - he also lost $3.5 billion on his shares in KRAFT recently - his shares have crashed down to just $300K EACH - how are the mighty fallen - it would be nice to own just one BH A share !!!

In the great India Pakistan War about 50 years ago which liberated East Pakistan and renamed it Bangladesh I flew into Dacca the capital in a two hour truce period to evacuate international embassy and non-combatant staff - we landed between the bomb craters and brought out several hundred very grateful refugees - the Indian Armed Forces had Dacca surrounded and were bombing the city daily - we flew the refugees back to Singapore and were met with crates of Tiger beer and telegrams from the Russian Mr Kosygin "The USSR is very proud of your achievement and thank you for saving the lives of our diplomats" and the Chinese Mr Chou En Lai " The Chinese people thank you for saving the lives of their citizens"

Deja Vu - cast your minds back to the great "Sub Prime Mortgages" scandal - the very name should have warned off all the big finance houses - two Yankee Federal Agencies - Fanny May and Freddy Mac (yes folks that was their names) decided to boost the housing market by lending vast amounts of Federal cash to people who had no hope of ever paying it back - the Feds panicked when they saw the enormous losses coming in so they "bundled up" huge numbers of worthless mortgages and sold them world wide at a discount - a bit like "passing the parcel" the trick was to pass on the bundles asap and not get caught out when the music stopped. Subsequently the bundles got sold back to the Yanks who then fined all the foreigners for mis-selling worthless rubbish to trusting Yankee investors ! No point in having great financial power unless you abuse it !!! MTRO is now in the same glitch and has learned nothing from the SPM scam - no doubt the govt is standing by with big bailout funds like it did for MTRO parent RBS

The greater the crooked dealings the less likely the big boys are to get punished - our "friend" in Europe Mr Junker happily laundered dirty money for criminal gangs when he was in charge of Luxembourg and the primary income for Malta is selling EU passports to illegal immigrants. The EU is a rotten corrupt front company for the German Fourth Reich - the German FM said last year - "What Germany failed to do in 1914 and 1939 by military force we have now achieved by political power !" The conquest of Europe !

some of my friends back in 1998 put most of their pension savings in LLOY - buying at £6 then £5 then £4 - now a 90% loss against its £6 SP - the banks are gold mines for corrupt directors and market manipulators - the last time I bought LLOY was in 2009 at about 35p and sold early 2010 when they announced 100% new shares RI - I sold at 125p When the RI came in the SP dropped to 65p and today is 63p - not good for LTH - I think that all SPs now are good for day trading or short term holds but not fit for purpose in the long run - MTRO bank now down from £40 peak to £10 today - caveat emptor in this "sleazy casino" as Vince Cable labelled it a couple of years ago

We used to see a good "dead cat bounce" when SP s crashed 20 or 30% but brokers now seem to hold down the SP all day with little recovery. No incentive to buy more shares now until the SP starts to rise strongly again

If the shorters and brokers try a "rinse and repeat" of today's corrupt pump and dump I think a lot of people will be waiting at 0805 hrs tomorrow for a quick jump onto the rocketing SP roller coaster and a quick jump off at about 0930 hrs ! Or will the crafty market mafia anticipate this and go in another direction ? Hopefully some PIs made some profits today

We need a real PM to sort out this mess - can anyone imagine Maggie Thatcher taking all the contempt and insults from the foreigners - Mrs May's Friend - without lashing back with counter threats ! Maggie won us our big rebate from the EU then cowardly Blair gave most of it back on the promise of CAP reform which has never happened - EU promises are pure lies - they have no intention of honouring any agreement which is not legally binding - we must walk away at end March - extending Article 50 would be a disaster - but Mrs May is expert at causing disasters !

applegarth - your wife is spot on - Mrs May is corrupted by power and will indeed sell everything just to hang on as PM - but the real villain is Cameron - when he brought forward the BREXIT vote I said that was a reckless thing to do and he only wanted to clear the way for OZ to become PM. His reckless action has totally divided the nation and badly damaged our economy and trading empire - the Tories have had to raise taxes to the level of WW2 rates and have doubled the National Debt to £1800 Billion. Now if we stay in the EU we will be treated as pariah dogs and if we leave the un-elected political commissars will do their best to destroy our trade - Cameron has done more damage to this country than a major war - we are now going to remain as a vassal state of the EU - as Boris Johnson has predicted - what a mess the dim witted politicians have made of a country that once had the greatest Empire the world has ever seen - "When a great Empire collapses - in the sunset the dwarfs cast the shadows of giants !"

KRSS - Mrs May is the worst PM we have ever had - I speak as a 73 year old keen historian - she is a Mr Micawber character "If I do nothing then I can do nothing wrong - I will just wait and hope something better turns up. !! She is leading the Tory Party to oblivion at the next Election round.

i cannot recall another large company with a P/E ratio at about 1.4 - got to be the bargain of the market at the mo. It will take a few weeks to sort out the final settlement with lenders and big shareholders but IMO DEB will rocket back up once the BREXIT chaos brought about by our incompetent PM is over - as I predicted the cowardly Mrs May has kicked the can down the road once more and this will bring further chaos to the economy and big business
