Thanks gents
I’ve never been involved in an IPO like this and been eligible for the free shares.
Can someone dampen any concerns that on the first morning of the 9th month, there won’t be a selling frenzy and the share price drops like a stone?
Is there any history of companies putting anything in place to negate such an event?
Do they tend to offer a divi close to the said date, to stop sellers??
Jeremy Skillington comes across so well, perhaps CF would be wise to allow him to do more of the talking and lend him to OO too......
Exciting times!
Yep, the same.... mine are now showing on HL
FYI, allocation now showing in my S&S ISA on HL.
Tonka, I think you're right.
I do believe the highs of 48p were based on 2 imminent IPO's as per CF interview a couple of months ago.
When the 1st was delayed, and the 2nd hasn't happened yet, and it wasn't DIM - the wheels fell off, as it was traders jumping on board to make a quick buck. Those traders have been bitten, as have the LTH who also bought on the way up. The LTH have also been bitten trying to top up on the dips...... the dips have never stopped dipping of late, so more paper loses.
Again, I'm desperately trying not to be negative here but if CF gives a ex div date again for future IPO's, it'll be exactly the same situation again... leaky ship rises and then dropping like a stone after..... and the same old "it was zero on the OO balance sheet chat, why is it dropping"
I cannot see the share price rising much higher than 50p again, and that if all 4 spin offs are a success and the cash dividend does indeed arrive this year.
I think what p*SSes me off more than anything is that fact that the man with two many toes over on ADVFN has been better at predicting the share price than I.... feeling very embarrassed about that!
also, just to add, If we were tracking AIM, we'd be down 5-8% max, but we are down 50% from our ATH - so that cannot be used as an excuse IMO.
Herne, I very much hope you are right.
I won't be selling a bean, however.... unlike all of the other drops, I just cannot bring myself to keep topping up any longer on this "dips".... they are just too often and too big at the moment.
This time next year..... *fingers crossed*
Perhaps I am extra cautious and pessimistic this morning, but his comment "OO has had a good run" did not sit well with me at all in this mornings Poolbeg interview.
What does that mean FFS? It hasn't had a good run this year, he's had a horrible run.
Does he mean, the run is over?
This is exceptionally painful to watch at the moment for so many of.
Yes only paper loses, but still sickening!
Hopefully now Poolbeg is operational, CF can focus heavily on getting this main business back on track.
I am sold on the the long term benefits of OO and it's assets, I only worry that II and the far more experienced investors than I are staying well clear and larger shareholders are jumping ship.
Time to exit explorer and get on with some work I think.
Not sure I can afford to lose much more!!!!
Great little video and very exciting!
Let’s hope his comment about “Open has had a good run” wasn’t implying it’s had it’s day though.
Couldn’t agree more…
We are heading head first into large hospital omissions , endless new variants and now have a health secretary who is COVID positive!
Without sounding like i’m wanting to profit from this horrendous virus…. We are nowhere near out of the woods and OO and the government will be joined at the hip for the foreseeable!
Dumbledore, let's hope so - I believe that is what some of the LTH's here deserve anyway.
The last 3 weeks have been cruel and pretty brutal - I do hope CF is far more cautious now about his choice of words and specific timelines on dates. He's our best weapon, yet he's his own worse enemy at times.
Now is the time to deliver (as he has tended to do more often than not) but quietly, professionally and without too much noise.
Then just watch this share climb back to its deserved place!
Have a good weekend all.
Behave Bill!
You’re 30% more aggressive behind a laptop screen.
Free shares = reduction in share price by 30%.
Greend, I’m intrigued to hear why you don’t believe he has controlled the narrative here….
IMO, he has very much controlled the narrative, as this is his job.
I don’t think for a second he has controlled it in a way to keep the share price down though…. It’s just his over exuberance which has bitten him on the backside one too many times.
I work within a sales organisation and I have seen far too many salesmen and women continually over forecast in an attempt to gain the trust of the directors/CEO/CFO.
Although I believe in the long CF will deliver, this just reminds me of a junior salesmen promising the earth, too early in attempt to come across as successful to his peers/shareholders.
I know it’s a comment been said many times now, but let’s see where we are at Christmas.
Lessons to be learnt and his PR team need to sit him down, if not already…. But as many have stated, this is a £1 a share business I believe.
Bc, apologies if my “for the record” came across as passive aggressive…. It wasn’t meant that way!
I absolutely agree, we are in a bubble and a very exciting space right now with plenty to look forward to.
Steady as she goes and hitting a few objectives on time will see everyone settle down.
I’m not trying to play devils advocate just to cause a stir, just want open discussion to be met with the respect it deserves on this board.
Wrong Jimzi, they are content because they have seen huge gains and are allowing CF a lot of wriggle room because of said gains.
There is a real arrogance on this board around when people bought in…. I’ll say it again, until we are all on the same page the newbies won’t stick around long enough to become LTH.
I would be gobsmacked if anyone is pleased with where the SP is at the moment… are you? If you bought in now and had lost 25% within a few months, would you sit quietly and be content.
Try and see it from both sides of the fence.
Becontrarian, although I agree with you, it could be deemed quite arrogant for the longest of holders to be in control of the narrative here.
For the record, I continue to hold and add on a monthly basis, I’m in no means ready to sell, believe that in time CF will deliver on his promises…. However, there are plenty here who haven’t seen the large gains that many LTH have. The comment regarding share pricing being higher wouldn’t create the current atmosphere…. That’s correct IMO, but CF slippages have (granted along with many traders and Invesco selling out) resulted in a selling frenzy and seen circa 25% drops…His over exuberance is both a lovable and annoying trait, but one we either love or loathe I guess. But as share holders he has to know his actions are likely to be scrutinised.
Jimzi, I think you’re missing the point…. Some have lost thousands not just a few hundred pounds. We’ve also lost a few “decent” contributors on here, who have simply lost faith.
We desperately need the LTH’s and any new investors to be singing from the same hymn sheet. Not the LTH gloating about huge gains and the new investors citing double digit loses over a number of months.
Here’s to a great few months ahead, for all of us… newbies and LTH, I hope we all make a bucket load of cash!
It's getting quite boring how one-sided this board is becoming.
Anyone dares to open a conversation around any topic which isn't centred around blowing smoke up CF's backside is smacked down and criticised.
Lets encourage open conversation and look at all sides of the argument and being blinkered in either direction is a dangerous game.
The fact is, CF is at his lowest point in terms of PR at the moment, due to many reasons and some of his actions should be discussed and debated..... fairly I may add.
Lets not be a one sided board, as we are in danger of being just as guilty as the man with too many toes over at ADVFN.
The problem is the last few months have been a bit of a PR nightmare for CF. Whilst the share price was steadily rising, his over exuberance was allowed to flow and little timeline slips were brushed under the carpet without much discussion.
The last 2/3 months however have felt different. I’m sure he will be acutely aware, his actions, comments and promises of spins offs, dividends and stating people will be “pleasantly surprised” by the results is getting on people’s t@ts now.
Underwhelming results, a poorly managed spin off and discontent and talk of manipulation of the share price to benefit himself is not going away. Throw in a 30% drop in share price and 2021 hasn’t started well.
Come on CF, prove you really are looking after shareholders before the locals get too restless and move on!
