Got my prediction wrong again darn........lol

I bought my first trench @1623p just before it went ex-divi. Saw it dropping all the way to sub £14! Almost lost £2.40 and the dividend was only 48p!! And you should remember the last one when it fell more than 70p compared to the 21.06p dividend. This is just normal for IMB every time when it goes ex-divi. I wonder will it be the same on Nov 25?

Good evening pig. The past experiences tell us that I still think it will be a better idea to sell the day before the next dividend going ex then buy back when the SP falls three times more than the payout......lol

This is my 3 thousand and 2nd post. Means that I have dumped hell a lot of garbage on all BBs....... hahahaha

Oh I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, if you look at it that way. It's a great return for 6 months. Provided that the SP will remain the same but usually it tumbles every time when it goes ex-divi though. Therefore it looks like just a gamble to me. Sorry to pour cold water on you again........lol

Well pig, there are 4 dividends a year. I believe you have forgotten about the two 21.06p. The total should come to somewhere around 138p. So the yield at the current price of 1563.60p is 8.825%. It's a very high return indeed. Unfortunately, the capital depreciation was double of the dividends in the past 5 years!!........ hahahaha

Morning pig and Jing. IMB had £1.626b cash in hand and at bank in 2020. £660m less than 2019's £2.286b. That's probably one of the reasons why they need to cut the dividend. Don't think they will raise it back in the short term when the SP is declining, which will make the yield far too high and harder to sustain. So I think the next dividend is most likely to be the same, 48p.

Yup, closed up, although well off its high. Let's bring on tomorrow again and see if there will be more rises. It will be great if this keeps going up a few pennies a day until next Wednesday before going ex-div.........hehe

Sold mine a few months ago and just bought in again this afternoon @0.2833p. Looks rather likely that I may have to average down, although I prefer average up.......lol
