Hi robleo mate. Annalisa has already explained what is point. In case you still not quite clear. I'll go over it again:
A point is usually meant the SP going up or down by one pence. If your hold 1000 shares then if the SP has gone up or down 1p, which will be 1000p. That's £10 per point. If you hold 10,000 shares then it will £100 per point and so on......hope this will help.

Some of you may be confused. In fact the Irish government did not actually reduce their holding in company. The reason why their shares holding has dropped from 8.15% to 4.25% was because GSF has increased the total number of shares in issue to nearly double after the fund raising. Therefore the proportion of the Irish government's share holding is now down by nearly half.....hope this will help.

Hi Annalisa, no offense but if I recall correctly then you seemed to have said £1.7k per point. Now you said that you only have 100k of VOD shares, which is only £1k per point. Do you have any other open positions for VOD as well, something like CFD or spread bet?

Freedom4Uall, no offense but imb only has a total of 0.946b shares in issue and bats has 2.295b shares. The two companies put together only got 3.241b of shares. How could Kenneth Dark buy 4.4b shares? Or did you mean 4.4b in money not numbers of shares?

Been watching for a while and saw it has dropped to a new low for over 6 months. I am an income seeker. Couldn't resist and pick up a few for the fantastic dividend yield. Let's hope that the SP will start rebounding from here. GLA

Yes this is part of the reasons why BP is out of favour and abandoned by some II, which has caused the SP stagnation of late.

Sorry my mistake, yes, it's $500m not £500m and roughly about £360m, which will only take just 10 days to spend them all. If BP buys back 12 million shares a day......lol

The FTSE100 future is down. The gold is down. The oil is down. On top of that, it's Friday today. I think it will be another blood bath today.....

That's about 2p per share increase in value mathematically but will it really make any difference to the SP??

Hi bp_or_not-2b. BP's buy back program will spend £500m. So far they jave spent about £36m per day for two days. Therefore if this keeps on going then 500/36=roughly about 14 days, which means it will still have 12 more days to go until they have spent all £500m. Hope this will help.
