Well, the following were the dividend payments from M&G for last year(2020):

May 29, 2020: 11.92p final
May 29, 2020: 3.85p special
Sept 30, 2020: 6p interim
Total: 21.77p

According to Dividendmax.com, the last payment of 12.23p on April 28, 2021, was a final dividend and there will be an interim dividend on September 29, 2021. I believe it will be at least 6p. Maybe a bit more. Have to wait and see.

Yes dubs, there are some other shares pay more dividends than lgen:

Imperial Bland plc (IMB): 8.49%
Chesnara Plc (CSN): 7.75%
M&G (MNG) : 7.45%
Directline Insurance (DLG): 7.33%

Well, M&G now is near to its all time high but the dividend should be safe. Here is an extract from the latest final results:

'- Ordinary dividend of 12.23p per share, in line with our policy of a stable or increasing dividend'

So, there's no need to worry about dividend being cut for the time being. The only thing is that we don't know how far can this upward trend go though..........lol

Morning robleo, M&G paid 21.17p last year including a special 3.85p and that was the first full year payment after it has started trading as an independent company from Oct 25, 2019. Hope that this would helps...

Hey amigo Dan, you better talk to the Venezuelan government then. They have already accepted the bitcoins. Their currency has already pegged with it..........lol

Oh, maybe they are still thinking of doing it. I read the article but couldn't quite recalled it now....... hahahaha

Oh, and believe it or not, South America's Venezuela government has already peg their currency with the bitcoins!!! These amigos are really crazy indeed.......but actually I have no idea how it will work!!!!..........lol

Now Dan, as I have said that my opinion was only based on past evidences, which were quite solid to support my points of view there though. Whether it will come true or not only time will tell........lol

And robleo, I am with you too. These new crypto money are far too complicated for an old guy like myself but like what I said, whether we like it or not. They are coming and we better learn to accept it once they have been regulated or recognised by governments of the world!!.....

Good evening robleo. Didn't you say that you bought @237.47p? Then your break even point should be about 239p(0.5% stamp duty + 2 commissions). So, you must be already in profit now...unless your broker is charging you a fortune for buying and selling.........lol

We probably will see the SP reaching 109/110p, a new trading range by next Wednesday when the net assets value will be updated (if it is good) and quarterly dividend declared. Let's look forward to that and good luck everyone....

Hey guys, I know I am not knowledgeable enough to join in this debate but I still want to say something based on past evidences. Please don't shoot me down.

Hundreds of years ago, when you tell people that a ship made with tens of thousands of tons of metal can stay afloat in the sea. I don't think anyone would have believed you. So is aircrafts taking hundreds of people could fly on the sky. Rockets reaching the moon, Mars and satellites leaving the Solar system into the outer space. 18 billion kilometres, even light would take more than 20 hours to get there. But they are now all real, not imagination!

Now, let's take another example. When banks were first established. Many people would not trust them. They hid their money under their pillows and beds instead of deposit them in a bank and now we don't just trust banks but even use internet banking. We pay for goods and bills without physically touching our money at all. That's quite similar to crypto currencies isn't it?

Therefore whether we like it or not. Soon or later we will have to accept these new forms of currencies. They will become real just like metal ship, aircrafts and rockets...and we have to trust them like we now trust banks......lol

Sorry, I made a mistake. Dividend declaring date is June 2 next Wednesday, not June 6. My apologies.

Yes, I know but still, we need the SP to stay up or at least stable. So that we don't need to pay for the dividend from the share price. It has fallen back from the 290p+ since going ex-divi. Whilst the FTSE100 has shot up from 6700's to now 7000's!!.......oh dear.....

Looks like the SP is going to repeat the last ex-divi movements, falling all the way down from £16.25 to sub £13+ before climbing all the way back to here........but let's hope not......lol

I am really mind boggling why people sell on the ex-divi day after the SP has dropped 50% more than the dividend? What benefits can these people gain from selling? How much tax can they save from the 21.06p dividend when the SP has dropped 13p more than the 21.06p?? Does it make any sense??......goodness me, how silly?!?!?

Hey robleo, good morning. Sorry, like I said before, I am the same class with CSDI or even worse in investing. Don't think I can offer you any advice, absolutely not qualify at all. Maybe some of our more experienced investors will give you a head up on this matter but I strongly oppose you to take it seriously. As none of us here is an expert. You must consult a professional if you need help to find a home for your hard earned........lol
