https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6407265501482979328 Ken in London meeting brokers, analysts and investors with Non-Executive Directors. Who are great when making strategic decisions.. Interesting
And agree Ken’s wording on the podcast is clear around this, feels like a long shot in the near term. Regardless the outcome it is a net positive and most of the demand will be driven by OEMs who want to be on the front foot. Exciting times and let’s hope no more slip-ups in execution. Hopefully profile of new CEO will tell us the direction of the business in the coming years
https://ec.europa.eu/transport/sites/transport/files/3rd-mobility-pack/com20180286-proposal_en.pdf Motor vehicles shall be equipped with the following advanced vehicle systems: (a) intelligent speed assistance; (b) alcohol interlock installation facilitation; (c) driver drowsiness and attention monitoring; (d) advanced distraction recognition; (e) emergency stop signal; (f) reversing detection. "advanced distraction recognition' means a system capable of recognition of the level visual attention of the driver to the traffic situation and warning the driver if needed" Looks pretty clear to me
Indeed finding the answer to this point takes 5 min, look at interim results and read Cenkos about fleet numbers. £18 out of 23m fleet revenues this year come from sales revenue instead of monitoring. Then for H2 there is 16m to go of which 14 was agreed or at sign-off in March. We got pictures of ready products a couple of weeks ago so 6-8 weeks to ship in order to recognise. Not that hard it seems to me, then you got auto revenues above plan to off set any potential shortage in fleet
Underlying report was from 2017 so guess work done in 2016? But agree that part was pretty surprising to me and makes me think it won’t be advanced being mandatory given it’s also 6x more expensive
Report was released on 26th of April and our real rise started on 8th of May. Also when look at SEYE price not much has happened while you could probably argue it has more impact on them. So not sure priced in much
Will be interesting to see if drowsiness and attention detection becomes mandatory from 2021 what impact will be on SP for us tomorrow. Am guessing good but not through the roof as would happen if advanced distraction recognition would be in cars, busses etc.
https://publications.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/ed4aff17-49c5-11e8-be1d-01aa75ed71a1/language-en Enjoy :) Lets hope they go for policy option 3: Advanced distraction recognition mandatory from 2023 on new models (passenger cars, buses, coaches). This is SEE tech Option 2: Drowsiness and attention detection mandatory from 2021 (passenger cars, buses, coaches) This could be holding your hand on the wheel (lets hope they all looked at the Tesla news articles)
Euro NCAP 5-star covers about 70-75% of the cars so the last 25% covered by the EC can't be that exciting as will be cheaper cars who might go for SEYE. But also hoping this rise is driven by people who know more
Was very excited until I clicked on the link as this has been public info for a bit and doesn't give much guidance on the decision the way I read it. However from researching Colin does seem to be the main industry guy here so lets see and the 16 of May is not that far away. Would be huge news The HSBC article is also super interesting, not sure if just a big compliance miss there or just creative marketing junior but if true and revenues are more like 120m by June-19 that would be massive news. Guess we will get year-end update around beginning of August again so could be a great summer Lets hope
