Barned mentioned that Seye communicated Dws for 1450 msek during 2015-2019 but that revenues between 19-23 are 1/6 of that. Does smarteye overestimate DW values?

Colin Barnden is paid by Seeing Machines for his analysis, and we believe his opinions are considerably biased. Hence, we do not put too much thought into his statements.

However, there are four points to that statement.

1) it typically takes two to three years from a design win until production starts, meaning that the first year of the accounting should at least be 2021

2) The value of a design win should typically play out over 7 years, not 5.

3) That period was exceptional, considering that the whole Automotive industry was delayed by two years from the pandemic.

4) considering the law enforcement during 2021-2028, a considerable majority of the sales should be anticipated to occur in the last three years.

This is the only OEM we know that has switched from SEYE to another supplier. After Seeing Machines won the second generation's procurement, they, too, failed to 'defend' it. As such, the third generation was won by Xperi (now acquired by Tobii). However, SEYE has managed to win several car OEMs, for which Seeing Machines won the first generation. Examples include Ford (Dec 2022) and Volkswagen (the fifth OEM in the recent announcement)

So far, AIS (hardware+software in a package) has generated only small revenues. Several agreements with bus manufacturers have however now been signed, and Smart Eye expects substantial contribution from this segment starting in Q4'24. The price point is said to be "like a cheap smart phone", so while the quarterly volumes may initially only be one or a few thousand, the revenue contribution will be significant.

last, ais is a potential kicker as it generates substantially more sales per vehicle (likely almost 100x) than a dms license. we do, however, not expect any significant contribution from this, albeit somewhat higher than in q1.

They knew about the gen 2 stock and the cat deal a while ago and they said recently break even would be later than they thought in fy 25 so I wouldn’t be thinking around those lines as it only makes for disappointment.

I dont think they’re doing anything to coincide with seye results either as I get the feeling they don’t give a toss what seye are doing

A quick and easy solution would be a rear view mirror that had everything inside it that you could just click and play in the new iteration of the vehicle to fix the mess the last procurement team made.

Thats all well and good, but if they were that safety conscious they would have installed gen 1 or 2, they’ve had plenty time, I still recon it will be a case of do the bare minimum with the least amount of cost and hassle which is business as usual.

I wonder what the craic is with the factory instals that seye won? I’m guessing that all the ADAS won’t be working in harmony there haha

The rear view mirror was a normal one, I'd class that as no magma DMS

Just watched a review on it and no mention of any new driver monitoring, only briefly says there’s no annoying bings or bongs.

No link as there are plenty on google to choose from, so don’t expect to see an ncap report.

BMW couldn't get DMS from us as they weren't a TAKATA customer, they had no choice until we were out of that bind ( luckily)

They won’t say that cos they all claim it’s their DMS system that they designed.

People won’t judge a BMW like a Kia on DMS like they wouldn’t compare them by performance.

I’m sure the reviews of how good the mirror works when it is reviewed will be amazing, with all the features that are included to make the experience better and that alone will make the consumer want that vehicle and the OEM want that system

No one can put a time line on this or any share for that matter, the events of the last 4 years should be a reminder of that, there were winners and losers as always and we are a loser.

Every year we get compilations of up coming milestones that ‘MUST’ make the sp go up, these milestones have come and gone like a damp squib sadly.

I continue to hold as this company would have to try really hard to mess it up from here, who knows when it will get back to double figures and what will make that happen as the market are truly unimpressed with this stock

Where do you find out which cars are being tested? Do we know for sure the golf is being tested? It was tested in 2022 and it’s the same model so if it is getting tested you would assume it’s because of DMS.

I hope this hasn’t been another blanket assumption by the rampant board members
