The Ensco contract was reported several weeks ago and the spud date was to follow from the end of a current Centrica job, IIRC.

The Ensco 100 drilling rig has been hired to plug and abandon the 9 Ketch wells, Schooner will be next. Millom and Dalton are the East Irish Sea opportunities, but operator Spirit Energy is plugging the wells from a slant drilling rig on Morecambe platform.

The wells have to be plugged and abandoned before the production facility is decommissioned and removed

Faroe and Spirit have both decided to press on with plugging their gas wells on Schooner, Ketch, Millom and Dalton, so thats 4 of the target projects gone, and some more needed now.

Nuog/MFDevCo is not a member of any industry group such as Oil & Gas UK or EEEGR where all this kind of stuff is being debated and moved forward . That seems odd for a company that claims to have first mover advantage in G2W and marginal field technology.

I am sure that Mr Wakeham will serve his constituency to the best of his ability as a member of the opposition in the House

The most credible story I have heard is the one where the Decommissioning Manager at Faroe (now DNO North Sea) said that MFDevCo is continuing to send him feasibility studies for G2W at Schooner and Ketch even after the contract for P&A of the Ketch wells was awarded to the Ensco 100 drilling rig.

Now that is what I call “advanced negotiations”...............

That will be the decom of nine Ketch wells surely., which rules it out as a rumoured GTW project?

One might be able to say that NUOG/MFD have an unchallenged record of signing non-binding collaboration agreements as their USP, but that might be cynical?

There is nothing clever about G2W and no IP involved. So what indeed is the USP? I cannot get it out of my head that GS brought this idea to Minty, after his 4 years in the wilderness, as an epiphany and looking for a listed company to raise cash, after seeing the work of EEEG and TIGRE. At a stroke, it could wash away all the failed prior deals and redefine NUOG.

It is a bit of a sod that Faroe and Conoco sold out after the idea was touted at the Liberal Club, and the new owners of late life gas fields might want to have a different view.

It does seem that the Schooner, Ketch and depleted Morecambe wells are all to be P&A and drilling rigs contracted for the jobs.

So where is the gas coming from ?

I am sure you can go to any equipment manufacturer in the world and say " We might have a couple of projects coming up. Would you like first refusal to supply without going out to competitive tender, in exchange for a bit of help with technical specs"

Then you say " Can we sign a non binding LOI and announce it in a RNS?"
