This kind of stunt has clearly gone through AM's head previously. As recently as 2015 RMRI was a plc , and you only register as a plc intending to to raise money from the public. The idea was dropped and RMRI became a private company ahead of the MFDevCo idea, in which RMRI owns half of the shares. I can foresee some attempt to cast NUOG adrift with all its baggage in Newfoundland.

Sirius explored for, found and appraised an onshore potash deposit in North Yorks. So, it has some similarity to the Rathin JV , with West Newton. Unfortunately when it came to financing the development of the potash mine, board hubris took over and they thought the money markets would be an easy touch without bringing in partners.. They weren't and Sirius has run out of finance options part way through the development .

I expect the partners at West Newton will sell the lot to someone with enough muscle to fund the development. If they don't, and start bigging up the idea of development by themselves, that will be a red flag.

NUOG has never explained what went wrong at GHS and why, other than platitudes about technical issues.. If it turns out that PVF were misled and there was never any realistic hope of a successful workover and oil production, they might argue that the production sharing agreement is a flawed contract and they want paying for wasted time and money. There may have been unwrittten side agreements aimed at protecting the PVF team if things went badly. Who knows?

However it turns out, the names NUOG and Enegi Oil Inc will probably stink to high heaven in Newfoundland and it is hard to see how they will find any local contractor willing to work for them in the future.

Until it is resolved , the claim to the court exceeds the market cap of NUOG, which must represent an obstacle to fund raising.
