The Power Division reports that the country's largest power plant in Payra has completely shut down one of its units. The plant's total capacity is 1,244MW, but with one unit closed, the other unit is generating only about 600MW.

Is there no organisation or coordination between these plants as to when they close for maintenance!!

Absolutely crazy!!

Maintenance work is also ongoing at one unit of the second-largest power plant in Rampal, which has a capacity of 1,234MW, reducing its output to about 800MW.

The third-largest power plant, SS Power in Chattogram, with a capacity of 1,224MW, also has one unit closed for maintenance, producing only about 600MW.

Very clever MM’s …. .so they have an UT for a trade of 1599 shares at 5.50, which makes the day look like its finished blue and up 4.76% even though in reality we should of finished at 5.2, imo this is so that its very easy for them to open in the morning showing as red to make it look like we have seller and in turn trying to encourage other sellers….

Whoever has been sat in the 5.2 region this week looks like they have picked up a nice position / holding overall ....

Interesting to see that it’s Barisal coal power plant is one of the ones that is running out of coal, and they were one of the companies in the Power China RNS that has expressed an interest to GCM that they would like Phulbari pp to supply them in the future …

The Company has received Expressions of Interest to purchase Phulbari's coal from both of Bangladesh's current Independent Power Producers, being SS Power Limited that operates the 1,320MW Banshkhali power plant and Barisal Electric Power Company that operates a 350MW unit at Barisal (with plans to add an additional unit). These represent some 27% of the present market.

Adani supply cut causes massive load-shedding

The 1,224MW newly-built coal-based SS Power plant supplied only 481MW on June 24.

The 307MW coal-based Barishal power plant generated 200MW on June 24 due to a coal shortage.

Positive2021, since we have had the RNS for power China for the infrastructure construction and overburden stripping contract I have felt really confident that this will happen sooner rather than later, but from that date, for this to move forward, I am also under no illusion that there would have been masses of work to do, and many many different contracts to finalise before we are given news, which sadly all take time, for example here are just a few that I can think of off the top of my head…………….

• Contracts on the relocation of the Phulbari people

• Contracts on who the Phulbari coal will be sold to

• Contracts for all the infrastructure which will be massive

• Contracts on the final terms for Power China to mine the coal

• Contracts on the final terms of the infrastructure construction and overburden stripping

• Contracts on who is going to take all the minerals once we start to clear the site

• Contracts for the storage of the minerals once we start to develop

• Contracts for the solar farm

• Contracts for the building and running of the power plant

There will obviously be many other spin offs from this massive project to be sorted that i have forgotten before we as shareholders find out and although it’s now very frustrating that we have not had any further updates, right now I am quite content to wait a little while longer knowing the hopeful returns that all the above will bring us… Finally!!

Well as Phulbari is part of the belt and road initiative, I wonder if in this article they are talking about Phulbari open pit mining 🤔🤷‍♂️
