Like any world issue, its never simple and normally comes down to picking a side

I think it's a shame this has put Russia and the West back many years and to use past invasions as one of the reasons isn't sensible, the whole of Europe wouldn't touch Germany if that were the case, but Germany, through becoming a valued member of Europe now holds great regard while been the most powerful country in Europe. (In my opinion) Russia could have followed suit after the Cold War but didn't.

No excuse for the persecution of anyone just trying to live their life but I think Russia should look at themselves before invading others for this reason

However, most don't feel the need to throw negativity at others that see things differently and some of you even seem to bask in the fact people are down and even said they hope EUA fails so they are right and not giving a dame how that might effect those invested if it did.

I was in AMGO at around 7p sold at around 17p as at that point thought the task to turn it around was too great. Once sold I didn't go back and bask and bash it. Some there lost 10.s thousands

Maybe the negheads should think more about how EUA has affected people rather than hope it fails

I'd say most if not all entities invested pre-war sold on the run-up or after the invasion, many at a loss I'd expect. Optics and return would have been the driving force. It's most likely just us monkeys that held and I'd say most of us would have loved to of sold in the 30-40's but that is the past

What actually matters now is the future and whether or not EUA will eventually get this over the line, hopefully, most have managed to average down and EUA will get a sensible deal done and we (the actual invested) can walk away with a few quid in our pockets.

I certainly can't see anything explaining the differance but this is good

Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 assets. Level 1 assets are those that are liquid and easy to value based on publicly quoted market prices. Level 2 assets are harder to value and can only partially be taken from quoted market prices but they can be reasonably extrapolated based on quoted market prices. Level 3 assets are difficult to value. Their value tends to be internal models-based as there is no observable market for them.

My point was that MONDI had originally called off the deal as wasn't happy with the way they were being treated re timelines

I used Mondi a while back when fr something was just posting links of comapnies that have walked away from Russia basically leaving their assetts and staff to get a quick exit which were been snapped up by Putins chaps and labeled as bad companies.

We aren't going to get full value but Mondi shows you can certainly walk away with some value

Just thought this was really positive

On 17 September 2023 Mondi plc (“Mondi”) announced the agreement to sell its last remaining facility in Russia, Joint Stock Company Mondi Syktyvkar, together with two affiliated entities (together “Mondi Syktyvkar”) to Sezar Invest LLC (“Sezar Invest”) for a total cash consideration of RUB 80 billion.

Mondi is pleased to confirm closing has been accelerated and the sale has now completed. Mondi has therefore concluded its exit from Russia.

Mondi has received RUB 57 billion into its London bank account and it is in possession of a letter of credit for the final RUB 23 billion, which will be paid in two equal instalments in each of November and December 2023.

It is intended that the net proceeds from the sale of all Mondi’s Russian assets will be distributed to Mondi shareholders in a timely manner once the final instalments of the consideration in respect of Mondi Syktyvkar have been received.

In my view, the longer it takes the more chance of some sort of peace and hopefully a better geopolitical environment for sale- I could be wrong and EUA already has something on the table, fact is NOBODY knows (cue the clueless TD- no sale fact lol)
