WL logging for a 2072m (6800') TD doesn't take long, the update says 'interpretation'. They should b able to read the net/gross pay pretty quickly. Question is which zones has got movable HC's present & what's the reservoir property over that interval.

The openhole at Winx-1 should b apprx 4300ft in length (i.e, from 2500ft which was their last casing point to final TD of 6800').

So the Operator will run multiple tools & collate as much info as they can depending on their logging contractor (Halib'ton, Sperry, Baker or SLB).

If there r multiple zones of interest, then they'll run something like a triple combo tool first, then the MDT probe & if reqd take side wall cores (SWC) since they haven't drilled a sidetrack to core the main reservoir.

The swc's look like champagne corks so r sent off to the lab for poro/ perm measurements.

The MDT tool can take time for multiple zones as they stop & seal the pressure pads & take a jab of fluid so its like a mini-DST as it measures pressure, drawdown, perm & obviously the fluid content. Data from the SWC's & MDT fluid as well as production test is whats reqd to lock in a Contingent Resource assuming the net pay is thick with oil (& not water bearing). GLTA"...

Well done DW, credit where credit is due, a well written and informative RNS that has not left us all piling into google to try and find out what is happening. Would love to know why wire logging is going to take 10 days as I seem to recall it was only a couple of days on IW2 which was much deeper. Must be lots more to look at, yippee!

Score that's because you have sold far too early, FO to come, wire logging to come, HRZ FO to come, Yukon etc. Don't blame the SP you are the one who pressed the sell button.

Chartman I really do not believe that the company had to react to that twitter post. Anybody who believes and then invests because of a twitter statement does not have a leg to stand on if the investment fails. If DW put out that god awful RNS because of twitter he quite frankly needs a long talking too, I suspect he got that anyway from the other CEO’s. If and it’s still a big if this well produces lots of oil I would not be surprised if some sort of authority had a look at what happened last Friday. It will have cost a lot of people who panicked considerable money.

Nigoil I have seen it happen before, but in this case I believe it was a very badly worded RNS that did the damage. I don't understand why he put it out like he did. Absolutely no need to respond to a tweet and if it was because of ASX requirements then he should have planned the RNS because he would have known one was required and taken more care in the writing of it.

Well DW is well and truly in the mire with some of us, but I imagine its nothing compared to how the other CEO's must have felt on reading his Fri RNS as they watched millions being wiped off the value of their companies all because of an appallingly written RNS. I would imagine from now on he will have to clear his RNS with them before publishing.

Brom pay me £200 thousand a year and I will guarantee even a dyslexic like me will write clearer RNS than DW, even if I had to employ somebody to write them. Far to important to a company, especially in the oil and gas business. Clarity is absolutely key.

Never, he often makes mistakes it’s well known, I have no problem with the lack of bull but in this case he could have told us where we were at drill wise eg which layer. Instead as he often does he has left us guessing. How easy would it would it have been to ‘say we have drilled to Nanushuk level 5 where we found etc and then say we will now head for Nanushuk 4 followed by the Turok‘. Clear to all and sundry.

Newanda I would not get too tied up in the details of the RNS, DW is crap at writing RNS and often gets detail wrong. He also omits to tell the full story as in this case which leads to us PI guessing as to what the hell is going on.

Jaytem some of us have been in this share for a long time and have every right to be getting frustrated at the 'false dawns' it is time for DW to pull something out of the bag. He has made a great deal out of the FO so he had better have a good one to give to us or I suspect people are going to want heads to roll.

As we were operating here without BEX I wonder who our advice came from, presumably we had a good look in the data room and somebody said yep looks good. Nothing in oil search is 100% but I hope somebody with the relevant skills had a good look at this and that DW didn't just take a flier because it was last minute and cheap. I know we are not finished with Winx yet but I am writing it off in my mind, the drill was obviously ahead of timings and those results would have been from days ago. I am sure if we had struck loads of oil in Nanushuk 5 they would have rushed that news out today. Its now down to DW to pull out a good FO for our conventional, please DW lets have a success at something as people have put a lot of faith in you.

Well DW better come up with a stormer of an FO otherwise 88e is knackered. 26 other wells hit lots of oil yet we manage to come up with not a lot. Unbelievable!

Lejjb can you please ask CH if he gets the permits through how much is reworking the wells going to cost, who will do the work (hopefully not the same bunch who are always leaving stuff down the well) and more importantly where is the money going to come from. I think you are forgetting the 2bn odd of conventional on top of the HRZ and Winx Bridgedog. Don't worry 2bn barrels of oil is not worth much!!

Interesting thoughts, lets say a bid came in tomorrow to buy the lot, bearing in mind we have not flowed any oil at all but we have some very good leads. What would people except? I would have to think long and hard about 12/13p but would likely ask for more.

Islay but he was also talking about creaming the curve and I suspect 50p would only be at the very end. Yes we have added but we have failed to prove we can get that sucker IW2 to flow. Thats going to cost us big time either way, sell out or FO. Unless we can get some significant cash from Winx which we then use to try and get IW2/3 to flow ourselves. Thats where the real money is locked up.

Agreed about what DW said but since then we have added several billion more shares to the pile. 20/30p in the circumstances, especially as we have not managed to flow test IW2 (yet) would be great and i would be hard pushed not to except the bid.
