The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
So the state will have a controlling interest in each private company. If that’s not nationalisation it’s as close as it can get to it. How’s it going to work in reality, we provide the cash they take the profit? At the moment if it’s all going wrong we can sack the board, we can’t sack the Govt can we. There needs to be a lot more detail on how this is going to work and it does not look like this has been thought through at all and it’s going to take time for the details to come out. The SP is going to take a hit until it becomes clear and that could be months away. This is going to backfire on the president and Chile. Calling for calm when you have just dropped this one into the business community is a bit of a joke.
Bluesky they need to get their finger out as we are drifting after a god awful summer/winter season. They could start by the team buying back some of the stock they sold off in the middle of the drill, boy did they time that right!! 20% would buy those shares back and maybe show a bit of confidence for moving forward (I am still furious they did what they did at that time). They desperately need to create some positivity and by that I don't mean another flipping webinar. Get on the front foot even if it means raising some money and get a realistic plan out there which includes what will happen if they don't they don't find a partner. A JV can take a long time to sort, upwards of a year or so when big money is involved we cannot wait for that to be sorted.
John its a real shame 88E went at this drill so late in the season as it would have been really good for both companies if they had managed a good flow test. Instead they are going to have to wait until next winter which is yet more wasted time and money. I guess 88e could go back to Icewine and have a look at what they previously missed but that will need another cash raise, they are going to have to consolidate at some point.
No chance 88E have over 21Bn shares in issue, who the hell wants to take on that lot. As I said before there is more than enough oil on our land to make us all wealthy, but they have to prove definably that it comes out and flows at decent rates. Last summers drill was a disaster, all it did was put yet more doubt in peoples mind and soaked up yet more money. Yes I know the gas cap was a surprise, but we always seem to have surprises every drill. Have to ask the experts why we didn't block off the horizontal, go lower and in a different direction and have another go at a horizontal with flow test. That would have been cheaper than doing a whole new well I would have thought. Once that was complete you could block it off and test the SMD. All impossible I expect but I hope they at least thought about it.
I guess the pilot plant will prove it works and produces the right quality lithium for battery manufacturers. I am not sure you sign a multi million pound contract before you have proof its going to work in your location. They are planning on full production in late 2005 so the plans are in place, even if the money is not yet. Perhaps the Govt will cough up some money to help as they seem intent on getting involved.
Sailplane I get the enthusiasm for yet more acres but to be very frank, we have more than enough right now that we need to sort out. Those 40000 acres just mean more yearly lease payments that will need paying. 1.8bn barrels of oil should be enough to make us rich if they can just get on and start to get some decent flow rates from some wells. So far every well has had some sort of problem which means we don't get the full picture. It's no good saying 'Ah well if only we hadn't pumped cement through the wrong hole it would have flowed great, people need to see, it as do other companies. I am really hoping we manage to get a large oil company on board with us that will actually manage to drill a well properly and in the right place, to open up all our oil acres. I would not be adverse to another cash raise despite the dilution if it means we can get going as we seem to be stuttering along at the moment. That rig we used which then went on too 88E should be sat on our pad right now pulling up the production piping. Still does not look like we have opened up room to other companies, why not its been ages that they have been talking about it. Get a flipping move before we reach 10 pence.
No need for them to switch as it is where they were heading from the start. As for the magnesium I guess it will be down to what the chemical makeup of the brine is. If there is magnesium in it then great, although it pails into insignificance compared to Lithium.
Yes CTL are going to use DLE. Pilot plant should be in operation in the next few months or so allowing them to send samples to battery companies. They have a sort of partnership with a Chinese company who produce this tech. Plant being built in Belgium!
That's very much a hold RNS whilst we wait to see what the Govt says, bearing in mind it's the President who made the public announcement yesterday. Hopefully the Govt can put this mess to bed as it will have profound effects on inward investment for the country if they don't and I just don't mean CTL. We have a very good CEO and as this was announced yesterday I am surprised this RNS was not ready to go this morning which means to me the telephone lines have been burning trying to find out what is happening. Lets hope for clarity later on, either way the company needs to put out another RNS.
That broker note is just complete rubbish. It just reiterates what we already know, it’s a great investment providing the Govt keeps its sticky fingers out. “We believe” is not exactly reassuring as they can believe what they like especially as they are invested. This needs a definitive statement from the Govt and the Company as to what their intentions are. PS where is this broker note from as it does not read like an official one.
Where the SP goes to will depend how long it takes for clarity to come forth, and I don’t mean some woolly statement. You can clearly see the Presidents intentions but it will come down to if the Govt actually allows this to happen. If the Govt has any sense they will sort this quickly as inward investment from abroad will come to a screeching halt if Nationalisation of companies comes to the forefront. Socialist countries just can’t help themselves, they were already making billions from the Lithium sector but now they want more, just greed.
Wolfi this is the bit that worries me, "Codelco and state miner Enami will be given exploration and extraction contracts in areas where there are now private projects (!) before the national lithium company is formed. For people who are ignoring this you are putting your head in the sand. Very glad this came out this morning as I was about to buy a bunch more today but that is on hold until this is cleared up. If this was to have no effect on the company you think they would have lined up an RNS first thing this morning saying so. They are also no doubt trying to get some clarity.
I ask for clarity because the company will not gain support from private investors/big investors until it is clear just what is going to happen in this new relationship. It could be good news if the Govt is prepared to provide some funds to get things moving or it could be bad news as CTL is the only company with the new technology that Govt is talking about. What easier way to start your new Govt Lithium Company that to take over a current minnow who has found tons of lithium. That's why this needs clarity from both the Company and the Govt.
Jonathan that maybe the case but clarity from the company is urgently needed or this is only going one way. There is a chance you lose the lot with these type of socialist Govts as they do not give a fig about private investors, so who is going to invest. They see easy money and want it all.
Unbelievable it was always my slight worry about investing in this part of the world. This is going to put us back until its sorted one way or another. The company needs to put out an RNS soonest to tell us what's going on and how it will possibly effect them or not. Bloody socialists!
Good spot MM had me worried for a minute that it was not going to involve lithium but it does!! Lithium is going to become a very sought after material. This is just such good value at the moment and definitely flying under the radar, I am definitely moving more money here as soon as it becomes available. Just for info go and look at companies producing lithium and you will find their shares at the £60 pound mark, CTL are at 56 pence and yet they have found copious amounts of lithium with so much more to come. Aim to be producing in 2025, you do the maths and if you don't think you could make yourself very wealthy off this company then your deluded.
Cry Wolf did you not read the RNS for goodness sake. They have just been through a horrendous winter with record breaking snow and cold temps. It is still causing problems as the snow melts, that's why production is down. Good grief some people.
Another very important statement not yet picked up by people, “ Substantial additional technical evaluation has been undertaken during this period, which has led to a better understanding, and increased confidence, of this resource.”. The billion barrel new find is looking good and it’s now been looked at in detail by the Big Oil Compant. This is taking time but it is coming together, hang in everybody.
