The positives I took/take from the press conference were:
There is no change to the roll-back of the roadmap.
The number of vaccines is high and these will be getting ramped up.

So, maybe not exactly what we’d like to hear, but another few weeks and I think there will be a lot more positive news.

Price is in $ not EURO, hence $1.62 ~ £1.17.

I could see some more gains, especially as Crest announced results which pleased the market.

Saying that, the market can never be predicted - buy on the story, sell on the news ;) .

I'm sitting on a large chunk of Capita and never expected 60p this week. I do think we have a good support level now, and over the next couple of months we'll see some steady progress.

I've been holding RR for sometime too, and it's only been the last week or so that sentiment has changed. Trying to predict when the same change will occur for Capita is more luck than judgement IMO. I'm happy to hold and see gentle rise.

Looking good so far - early days though.

A lot of this comes down to your personal feelings about risk. I am comfortable taking a risk and accept that there is a change to make some losses. If you want to spread your risk, you should be selecting a wide range of investments, but the 'downside' to that it you are likely to limit your potential returns too. You may be more comfortable doing that.

I've bought another 240,000 shares today at average 46.33 (inc charges) to top up my 105,000. So, I am potentially in for a hiding if things go south tomorrow, but I could also be sitting pretty. I'm OK with that - as I don't need the money and, if it tanks by 20-30%, I'll just sit on them and let them bounce.

I've been taking the opportunity to top up. Been buying at around 46p. Can't see it getting lower (famous last words eh!!!).

Looking forward to some gains tomorrow (hopefully). I'll be looking to hold for a while anyway.

I hope so - I'm holding 105k shares, average prive about 44.5p, so only marginal gain. First tranche was bought end of last year and 2nd this week. If we get to 60p, I'll probably be tempted to cash in and buy if there's a pull-back. Always the risk there's no pull-back though and you miss the next upswing :)

When brokers give 'targets', what does their timeline tend to be?

For example, having a target of 80p in 2 months is amazing return. If 5 years (yes, I am being extreme I know) is not so great.

So, are they saying that's a target to be hit within the next year, or are they saying that it what they think the company is currently worth?

Like all things sovereign, markets/companies have relatively short memories. Look at the debt defaults of Argentina yet people still go back and lend them money. I'm sure India can put a spin on this to other potential companies, but also, lots of companies will choose to invest there and take the risk as it's an expanding economy with great growth potential (and hence returns for companies).

However, I do think that Cairn could choose to sell the debt rather than pursue assets in other countries if they intend to stay in India longer term.

Just my take, but of course, there's so much more to this than is in the public arena.

True, but nothing is ever guaranteed. Too many factors outside of our control. Just hope to get more winners than losers, and also prepared to hold if things drop.
Also, no-one can ever pick the top/bottom - purely luck.

Holding 35,500 shares bought at 113.68, so still on a loss haha. Bought in December I think from memory, and held even when they dropped to low 90s.

Have hopes for a rebound soon - even if not tomorrow.

Agree Dodge _m. The wording of the statements make it seem very likely that something positive will be forthcoming soon on this. Interesting that they are looking to processing the award also in Singapore, Japan, the UAE and Cayman Islands. Nowhere for the Indian government to run to now.

I bought some CNE today at 179.9 and can see only upside from here.

Took the opportunity to add some at 46.6. Whatever the next few weeks brings, it'll eventually make me some profit.

I don't try to predict short-term movements - too many 'unknowns' (as Rumsfeld would say).
