Just read an article in the Telegraph from AEP (aka - the Prince of Doom lol).

He’s pointed out that with all of this funny money around (QE etc - i.e. direct funding of government spending by central banks), that this will lead to an increase in the money supply/inflation.

The knock-on effect to this will be that commodities will go up in value. Hence, your HE1 shares (assuming we get some drill success) will no doubt help protect against that.

Just my opinion, but this makes sense as I’ve been unsure as to the benefits of QE (money printing IMO).

And as for deepblue, he's been sneaky adding steadily.

I don't feel that the price here reflects the real opportunity. The level of risk seems low to me. The one thing which is an unknown appears to be if they can seal the wells, but with enough options, you just feel that they will get a least one successful drill location (and, IMHO, quite a lot more too).

I've been selling some other shares and crystalising 5-7% losses to free up funds for HE. I try to not view the money as 'real' money if that makes sense. I just hope that this makes it up for me.

But, with the drilling delayed until June let's hope we all get some more days like today. I missed out on the 17p level as my son turned up so I got side-tracked. I debated whether to disown him this afternoon - it was a close call ;).

Nice one DBD. I topped up some more today too about 18.3p. Was about to buy another chunk about 17 but got distracted and then I missed the opportunity as price had risen when I returned.

Will hold that chunk in cash and see what gives next week, I don’t need any more, but, well, who knows eh ;)

Steady now sunshine. Keep your nerve. We’re all rooting for ya!.

I don’t plan to buy more - only thing that could change that would be a serious drop (sub 15), but I’ve more chance Kylie knocking on my front door.

Managed to get some top-ups in eventually too. There was a period when there were no quotes, just as the price dropped to 17.7. Bought at 18.3 so can’t complain.

Even if there’s a further drop, I’m feeling comfortable about the next few months.

@TrekMadone - very informative information. It just keeps re-enforcing the picture here of something special. I hope so as I’ve put in more than I planned, but sometimes you have to go with what looks and feels right.

I plan to be a long-term holder too. I'm not interested in a quick 20%-30% return.

Why look for another share which 'may' make you a quick %, when you have one which looks likely to grow to a much higher figure than £1/share (IMO).

My average price is quite high as I've loaded up over 20p. I was waiting for a drop when they were about 15p and, yeah, like that happened. It's dropped now, so is this just the pause before the next leg to 30p or does it settle here (or even 1-2p lower) for a few weeks. Decisions eh!

I guess you won't worry whether you paid 18p or 20p if/when they hit £1. But I get the quantity may be lower.

And you're asking me? Seriously? lol.

My only sensible statement will be - only invest what you can afford to lose. I guess it depends on your stage of life what that is. If you're young and you can start again to build your pot, it's less of a risk than if you're putting a big chunk of your SIPP into one share. Just my very humble opinion of course.
I have 850k shares and am tempted to make it a round 1m tomorrow and then stop. I could retire and ever if this goes south, I'll be OK. (I'm seriously trying to not sound boastful, but I've been lucky and also worked hard for many years).

Yeah, I know you've been swept along too.
It's that thing where if it goes **** up, we'll get wiped out (as good as). But, if it flies (which seems so likely), we're talking scary returns in 6/12/18 months. I mean life changing.

I have a sizeable chunk of HE1, more than I expect to accumulate (as I'm sure many others have too).

I wasn't able to watch the presentation, but I've read the thread done by Mr. Spacetomato (many thanks and a very good summary. However, please can you learn to touch type haha) and I now feel as though I should offload some other 'safer' shares and load up more on this.

Is there anyone else feeling the same?
