You keep crying about SP performances but here are the facts , 6 month performances
- EZJ , down 22%
- Jet 2 , down 14.7%
- Wizz air, down 29%
- IAG , UP 6.97%
And these are IAGs closest competitors. Oh and AAL I'd Is down 10% but I don't like to compare US stocks to UK ones due to much more appetite and liquidity in US markets.
So stop crying about intraday prices , IAG is performing well versus the index
If you're holding shares just sit tight. If you're locked into a futures contract..well that's your own fault
Oil grow a pair and calm down, every day you are literally spamming this board with emotional posts. Why don't you do what you preach and share some useful analysis , the nonsense you post daily has zero value to anyone. Not trying to be rude here but it's counterproductive
If you're posting stuff on the same topic , keep it on one thread?
Could just be some dead water and then a proper rally tomorrow or next week. Any how risk appetite is still defensive
I also never said or implied buybacks are more attractive than lower debt. Reality is that you need a mix of both
Oil ,
Feel free to provide the hundreds list , but a better exercise Is to look at the top ftse and s&P companies and discount their buybacks. You'd see they are considerably lower , I have an index for this on my terminal but its probably free somewhere. Course it doesn't always work. Harbour energy has a 2.67 billion market cap, closer to the peak it was much higher. Buy back was only 200 mill
It would be a good exercise for you to pick IAGs main competitors, get their price curves into an excel sheet and create a bench mark. Then you can actual iag performance that isn't limited to just intraday
The point I made wasn't that you can't compare airliners, because you should with their respective financials. It's just not appropriate to be comparing day on day share price changes.
The prior day ezj closed closed airline 3-4% down , whilst iag was under 1% , so even if ezj is slightly higher today and iag is behind , net net iag has performed better.
Don't think you read what I posted oil, share buybacks DO work. Its one of the main reasons s&p company share prices trade so high. But these companies pump billions to buy back their own shares, not a luxury IAG has. Buybacks work when you have enough dry powder
The union said they will strike if iag does buybacks , it was very strongly apposed. Also livestock that's incorrect , the bulk of the reason why top S&P 500 companies trade where they trade at absurd valuation is due to company share buybacks , they can be really powerful when the power is enough. I'd prefer If iag did no divis or buybacks for next year
Dude you can't compare to other airliners price wise. Like easy jet will be up more than US because they also tend to fall more. Make an index and see how iag performs.
Nicely said Lloyd's, got a spare kidney ?
Sir why don't you look at how those other airliners closed yday first

Oil yep and at least these folks know how a basic index works LOL
Nah jtan you're in there sorry I forgot to add you
There's a number of people I consider clever/marker aware on this forum but you are not one of them oil. Top picks are probs DB, Fordm (as of recently), AC , sunsurfer and a couple of others whose usernames i can't recall lmao
Oil I was giving you prespective since you were having a breakdown. You were crying about prices so I simply outlined the sps that were doing much worse , cried about not understand why this isn't at your 180 entry, so gave you the reasons that is hindering the sp atm , even gave you some reassurance- if you want to take that as trolling go for it ^^
Ezj down 2.7%
Jet2 down 1.25%
Wizz down 4.4%
Please shut up
Makes perfect sense to me
- bench mark oil down , but jet fuel at significant premiums
- covid remains an issue in China
- discretionary spending is falling sharply, mortgage defaults on the rise , housing demand falling
-easy to see our recent very good numbers are just temporary. They will recover but not right away
Oh and my terminal has jet2 and ezj as IAGs closest peers
