The only thing i'm surprised at here, is that people are surprised this is taking several months.
In my current role my company has acquired 8 companies in the last 4 years & the due diligence/negotiating has taken anywhere between 3 and 9 months for each of those acquisitions.
In the current climate it is to be expected that any business will be more diligent and I wouldn't be surprised if it's another few weeks/months before we see an offer or multiple offers.
Irrespective of an offer, I believe the board are making genuine efforts to transform the airline & I also buy into that. Flybe have taken on the engineers which is reassuring that the fleet maintenance is fully within their control & a potential new revenue stream if they have the capacity to offer engineering services to the wider market. They are announcing new domestic and international routes & even winning awards for punctuality somehow. In my opinion, the future looks bright either going it alone or with the potential of a takeover.
seems the confirmation of this is enough to rally back, hopefully to around 20p zone again.
multiple sources reporting same news:

I felt this was over sold, would be good to see the recovery starting.
surely if mm's were aware of imminent news then the increase would have been far greater today?
I keep telling myself I'm "topping up" and quietly hoping I'm not throwing good money after bad.
the optimist in me is telling me that this is to trigger stop losses.
to clarify, is it Flybe themselves that are selling the shares (check I'm reading the RNS correctly)? surely it's not just to raise capital/cashflow?
interesting consolidation taking place in a "safe market", should see good growth in years to come
I'm happy at the price I bought in at, I'm happy with the future prospects and potential impact on the share price, I've calculated the risk, I'm not a day trader...so I just need to ignore the daily hysteria and wait to see if my buying the share was the correct decision or not.
News will fall at some point, unfortunately I don't think it will be instant, but I believe the price I bought in at represents good value.
I wonder how much involvement Vincent Hodder will have from the IAG side. He was the former strategist for Flybe until July of this year when he took over 'Level' for IAG.
Everyone seems excited by the prospect of Virgin, but I feel IAG may be the more aggressive/hungry party here.
whoever it is, competition is good and the more the merrier.

On a side note, if the share is anything like the service from the airline, then we are all expecting it to take off tomorrow where in reality it will be delayed for an unknown reason.
I was just thinking that the only time I normally see this level of excitement is around AIM companies where everyone will be a millionaire tomorrow.
Certainly interesting prospects for Flybe and hopefully a strong bidding war between IAG and VA
haha it wasn't out of spite - just a top up good luck
