Alba have been highlighting the Liechfraith shaft gold exploration after dewatering in the last two videos.
Harry Guests last video really shows how important the dewatering of the Llechfraith Shaft is. It has been no secret that It has always been Albas plan A to dewater and further explore that shaft. The permit delay is very frustrating but understandable NRW have to play by the book as do Alba. When that permit is issued, I do believe it will be a pivotal moment for Alba. They can crack on with plan A- quickly dewater then further explore the Llechfraith Shaft leading to substantial gold discovery then recovery in the quickest possible timeframe. Maybe more importantly it will confirm to everyone that they have the full backing of NRW to mine in the Snowdonia National Park Area. The granting of the permit should also generate a great deal of positive publicity to help the share price.
No doubt some investors will hold back until the permit is granted as they do not share my 100 % confidence of the outcome. I would think that just getting the permit will be enough to send the share price on a very big upward turn. I am thinking getting back to the levels of December 2020, then kicking on up with further news.
As pointed out in a recent post by ocelot…Alba have done nothing wrong over the last couple of years.
Just need a little more patience before thing take off
How impressive was that video presented by Harry Guest!! It was good to hear Harry say "this is what we can expect to see..when we get down their after dewatering" he talks my language...when not if..
Appreciate your post Greeno, but the Bat/Otter issue can be put to bed. No need to speculate or worry.
Alba jumped through every hoop to avoid a bat/otter problem. Including, they readily agreed not to work in the mine during certain months "Works will not be permitted to take place within the known bat-inhabited areas of the mine between November – March (inclusive), eliminating potential effects to hibernating bats"
One thing was responsible for the dewatering permit being denied.
Failure to provide data on mine humidity levels, because Albas data humidity loggers had failed, well they in been in for a couple of years and when it was time to remove them they were found to be damaged, and the data was lost.
“There is no information to support the application as to whether the de-watering of the mine will impact humidity levels? High humidity levels are key for successful hibernation; it prevents dehydration and prevents more frequent arousal from torpor so this will need to be assessed to ensure no likely significant effect. There is no baseline data as a result of the data loggers being moved.”
"The decision to refuse the permit application is based on our assessment of the potential environmental impact on the EPS/SAC features of Lesser Horseshoe bat and Otter. It cannot be demonstrated that the proposed water discharge would not have an ‘Adverse Effect’ on Lesser Horseshoe Bats and Otter "
“In the absence of adequate survey information, the current proposal does not satisfactorily evidence no loss, damage or deterioration of these features….
It is therefore concluded that the application fails to demonstrate that bats/otter ….. will not be adversely affected.”
"With the Clogau mine forming part of the Lesser Horseshoe bat/otter habitat and any changes in humidity ventilation, temperature and disturbance could cause deterioration on the functionality of the mine for bats/otter"
Alba report stated clearly that the dewatering would not affect the humidity levels, as the conditions will not change during dewatering. They just needed the baseline data to get the box ticked.
"Effects to bats from any change in airflow and humidity levels are predicted to be of No
Change and therefore not significant. This will in no way affect the FCS of lesser
horseshoe bat or Otter within the SAC."
"The flow of water from the Llechfraith adit to the drainage adit has already been isolated, with the current conditions inside the mine mirroring those during the de-watering process and the exploration in the lower workings when dry"
Alba did put in new data loggers but they did not have long enough to gather the data before the report was due.
Looks like an easy fix to me to get the permit, mainly get some more baseline data and bobs your uncle.
Alba have been pushing the Liechfraith shaft gold exploration in the last two videos, would they do this if they thought they may not get the permit. Its not if, its when, soon I think!
The Gold Alba are extracting from the waste dump, will mostly come from fine fraction soil, these soil particles are 2.36 mm or less in size. Also some Medium fraction soil, particle size 4.75mm-2.36.
The gold we recover from these soil particles is very fine, more like dust, its not the big clumpy show stopper stuff that we will be pulling out of the shaft once dewatered.
So while the gold pan that Harry was showing in the video might have seemed underwhelming, infact it was very good.
Thanks Streaky 1 for posting earlier...for those who missed it here is the new video again

Talking about the dewatring of the Llechfraith Shaft on the video released today pretty much confirms to me that the permit will be granted. While I was never in any doubt that it would be granted (after reading why it was refused) this permit will send a clear message to other investors that gold mining in the Snowdonia National Park is going to go ahead with full support from those that matter, despite environmental concerns. It will confirm that NRW are 100% behind Alba , because Alba are doing things the right way. Alba would now look very foolish should the permit be refused again after that video today. Not to worry, Alba are not foolish. I believe many investors are holding back until the permit news is released.
Reason to be cheerful number four.
Out of the blue, I had a very nice mail message from Alba yesterday evening.
They had no reason to send it but they did.
A couple of weeks ago, I had e mailed them just to thank them for clearing up the "Daily mail Gold Photos Story" from my previous e mail that I had sent. I also wished Alba well and told them I believed that they are working hard and are doing a great job. Yes I do believe that!!
In the e mail I received yesterday they told me they "can certainly do better in replying to emails more promptly" and that they "are all working very hard " and thanking me for my support.
I get the feeling that all is going very well behind the scenes at Alba right now...
Three reasons to be cheerful for Alba share holders over the next few days and weeks,
1. A great investor presentation tomorrow by GreenRoc Mining plc should be a nice boost to Alba with our 54% stake.
2. Independent assaying results from the pitting and sampling exercise of the waste piles should not be too far away, it should not take long to do the groundwork and get the samples sent off to the lab.... good results expected.
3. The de-watering permit will drop at some point soon.
Sorry about your experience with penny stocks Frank, I can not say my experience is the same.
Regarding Alba, I totally believe in Albas management team ( I hear the laughter now from my green filtered friends ) and my own knowledge based on extensive research. I can totally understand why the share price is where it is right now, and I am not in the slightest bit concerned. I am happy knowing Alba have everything in place to be hugely successful. just my thoughts of course.
While the dewatering permit is not the be all and end all by any means. I strongly believe the dewatering project will go ahead, it is unfortunate it has been delayed.
Relations with NRW are still very good and they fully support Alba, I have no doubts about that. I posted last year in some detail, why I thought the permit was refused. NRW have to tick the boxes, Alba went above and beyond to get them ticked, it was just bad luck some of the monitoring equipment failed. Just a bit more patience needed for the permit. When that dewatering permit is granted, it will be a good day for Alba, something to look forward to.
