Hi Boris00 - I understood and empathised with everything you wrote until, "...surely rejoicing in others despair can't be the way..."
I can understand why comments like this *may* be directed at me (?) but it's not accurate in my case. I do not seek or indulge in schadenfreude when publishing my analysis. I am only interested in numbers, science, facts, probability, risk/return and maths. I could walk past any member of this forum in the street and not know them from Adam, but I *do* recognise the numbers in both investment cases.
When I post about these two listed companies who have unequal shares (in quality and quantity) of the same asset I don't make stuff up. I don't exaggerate. I don't look the other way when folk who should know better persist in gilding the lily. If you read the other forum, I regularly correct posters there who state with apparent authority that PANR has x billion barrels of reserves. Of course they don't have a single barrel of reserves. I only deal in facts. When I guess or estimate, I say so clearly.
My only agenda is to arrive at a fair comparative value between PANR and 88E, which in turn will accelerate the price discovery of the fundamentals of both stocks. Yes, in my assessment, that price discovery will benefit PANR and be to the detriment of 88E. There's no getting away from that, I'm afraid. Most of this was decided a mile underground over millions of years. All we're trying to do is assess how the lines on the map at the surface intersect with the reservoirs down below. It is a scientific, empirical fact that PANR has the larger volume of O&G in its acreage and the quality of reservoir is higher there too. Whether this was by luck or design, that's the way the lines on the map have been drawn by these two companies.
Everyone is free to fact check my posts. boris00 and others - you'll notice I've tried to engage with posters close to the company and with high frequency posters. It is incredibly rare for any of them to engage on the facts. They prefer to call folk like me, Olderwiser (former long term shareholder of 88EE and O&G veteran) and Rabito79 (another O&G veteran) all sorts of filthy names.
As you state, it's entirely up to you and every other adult what they do with their investment dollars/pounds. But please note I have been entirely consistent on this matter. This is not new analysis. All I've done in the last 48 hours is show my working in greater detail.
