From today's Tullow results - Tullow say Orinduik is derisked and I believe they what this means is that H-1 extends into our block. We have a discovery here but they can't say that so they use the term 'derisked'

Guyana will be the focus for Tullow's exploration drilling programme in 2019. Tullow plans to drill the Jethro prospect in the second quarter of 2019 as the first of two planned wells on the Orinduik block. Prospect selection amongst the JV Partners is ongoing for the second planned well on the Orinduik Block. The success of the neighbouring Hammerhead-1 well in August 2018, only seven kilometres from the Orinduik block boundary, has further de-risked this acreage.'

Chief Minister Michael Gunner has today confirmed Mr Shaun Drabsch as the new Chief Executive Officer for the Department of Trade, Business and Innovation (DTBI), following a national recruitment process.

shares in unproven, speculative companies like this when you have companies like FOG that's already discovered 6.6tcf of gas at Beetaloo and with multiples of that to come. The Aus government believes they could be sat on 200 tcf and people are buying shares in crap like ECHO. Why?

Or ECO operating with Tullow and Total SA in Guyana. Exxon's found 5bn so far to date and all of that is next door to ECO's acreage.

Or Amerisur. A top quality oil company.

Why would CGP shareholder swap their paper for our (SOLG) paper? That doesn't make sense. And at some point Mather will dilute again either using equity or debt. If I was a CGP shareholder I'd be yearning for a premium cash offer from an external party

M7 - ECO felt the need to RNS the Hammerhead discovery simply because all parties (and I bet Exxon in private) believe the find itself extends into our block and therefore is quasi price sensitive

If Guyana's Petroleum Act and its rules dictating unit development (unitisation) of Hammerhead and its crossover between Stabroek-Orinduik is fully applied, I wonder how that would work in terms of revenues, costs, booking of reserves... other issues could be the date every party became a licence stakeholder..Total only trigger its option following hammerhead discovery...if H-1 does extend into our block how would that affect Total's obligations and revenues?

I believe the decision to drill Jethro-Lobe is an attempt to prove the Tertiary play stretching from Hammerhead westwards towards Guyana onshore

I bet Exxon starts to appraise Hammerhead around the same time as we start drilling Jethro-Lobe. If the Tertiary play doesn't extend south or east then it must west towards Orinduik...it must extend west otherwise there'd be no talk of unitisation

Okay, Doug. Well, first of all, Hammerhead, we just completed it at DST. Couple comments on Hammerhead to start. This is a massive accumulation. A very thick sand package. In fact, it's the thickest single sand package that we drilled on the block. It's a very large structure so it's going to require some additional appraisal. What we can say is that the results of the DST were good, meaning that the reservoir quality is excellent and the reservoir seems to be well-connected. You're right to say that Hammerhead's accretive to the 4 billion barrels and it could jump the queue in terms of being ahead of some of the other phases that were on the Turbot cluster, but it's too early to say that because we need some additional appraisal before we make that final decision. But, again, it is accretive to the 4 billion barrels. '

Well, I think, you know the purpose of the testing program, the primary purpose is always to establish reservoir continuity. So, is there compartmentalization or anything like that going on so far. All of our drill stem tests have indicated very good reservoir continuity everywhere we go.'.....good reservoir continuity...I like this as it may suggest H-1 continuity extends into our licence

'one or more on the Hammerhead'. I am assuming these vessels are floating appraisal vessels but the 'one or more' on H-1 does suggest a very large structure under appraisal...I am betting that H-1 does extend into our block and that unitisation talks will occur. I've read both the Hannam and the Berenberg insights now and both are convinced that monetisation-unitisation talks will happen suggesting the H-1 discovery is a discover for Exxon and for the Orinduik partners...great for ECO

Older - Exactly, exactly, exactly. Why would Exxon do such a thing? It doesn't make commercial sense to do such a thing as success at H-1 improves the value of acreage in Orinduik. Political pressure from the government? Moreover Exxon used Tullow seismic data to decide the location of H-1 which suggests cooperation between Tullow and Exxon as I believe such seismic data is covered by confidentiality agreements.

I think the Orinduik-Stabroek partners are operating an undeclared cooperation 'agreement'..

I can't work it out as I have neither the intelligence nor commercial insight to arrive a definitive answer but it does suggest an element of cooperation

Why Jethro ? Why not test the possible extension of H-1 first? Or am I being 'thick'?

I think ECO's one of the best exploration plays on the London market..it's a shame they've had to relinquish a hefty proportion of their stake at Orinduik

I bought some ECO last week when someone on ADVFN posted an article about the 2 Exxon finds. Amazing to think that news of these two finds came from a newspaper and not from Exxon itself. I bought as a trade but after spending some time looking at the prospects at Orinduik and the possible connection between TLW block and Stabroek I have decided to hold for the foressable

I don't think I have ever seen that before. A newspaper reporting on two major discoveries in such a matter of fact manner. What was Exxon thinking to allow that to happen? Well, I profited from it big time so thanks goes to the journalist based in Guyana

I like what's on offer here. The size of the targets, the connectivity and the COS are superb and drilling and corporate activity in Guyana will only accelerate from here. I see ECO being taken out well before it matures as a company

I was trawling the net looking for info and I found this from Holzman on upstreamonline (subs based so can't access full)

'Tullow said last week that it had identified four 2019 drill candidates on the block: Jethro, Kumaka, Amaila and Aurituk. The last is seen as possibly on trend with ExxonMobil’s Hammerhead discovery on the Stabroek block, a find that is assessed as extending over into Orinduik.

“We consider Hammerhead in many ways to extend into our block, meaning that Hammerhead is a discovery also on our block,” Holzman said.

“We believe that it will be some time in the near to mid-term future subject to unitisation talks and we (will) try to start those talks based on the geophysics, which are very clear to all parties, instead of spending some $40 million on a well that basically nobody needs to drill.”

In effect, it seems our side are convinced that Hammerhead is a discovery that straddles Orinduik and Stabroek and that drilling Aurituk would be a waste of cash. I find that statement astonishing. How many oil companies find oil on their licence even before spudding a well?!! I believe in the next 6 months or so that both sides (Orinduik-Stabroek) will decide to develop Hammerhead and its Orinduik extension in unison and that opens up a host of value creation opportunities for ECO. This company really is sat on a something special with the caveat of exploration risk always presence...

Is Dorothy Close related to David Close (ex-Origin)??...just wonderin' like...the excitement is slowly building, slowly, very slowly..we need that one piece of price triggering news to set us off on a mad gallop...

I am intrigued by this. The NTG's obviously being encouraged by this by NT operators who may have investment plans afoot..the 'upstream connections' reference is interesting. Does this relate to Beetaloo? It surely must as up to this point all other upstream supply is out there in the open so why is Gunner (and Canavan, probably) pushing for this exemption?
