It is my belief that the market today is so risk averse that only official company news will incite a price response. Investors want to see the concrete proof and that comes from successful drilling being reported to the market. Anything less is almost dismissed. One only has to look at JOG and ECO to see how potential can sometimes be ignored until the company report's one way or another

Therefore the potential here is huge but we need drilling, appraisal confirmation before we can really motor along to full value, assuming the news is positive and accretive

• Preparatory work ongoing in the Beetaloo. Two horizontal appraisal wells planned in CY2019:

– Kyalla liquids rich gas play - water extraction licence in place, drilling approval anticipated in August. Water bores drilled and access road and well pad construction nearing completion.

– Velkerri liquids rich gas play - water extraction licence in place, water bore and access roads approved, awaiting well pad civils and drilling approval.

The internet was awash with reviews of the Cadillac XT6 on Monday, with our own Tim Healey being of the mind that it is “pleasant yet forgettable.” In a sea of three-row crossovers, any new machine — no matter the brand — needs to have a killer app in order to stand out.

What form does that take for you? Prodigious power? Let-them-eat-cake seats? I think there’s one item in particular that would allow the XT6 to pole vault most of its competition … and Cadillac already has it in its parts bin.

Super Cruise, GM’s excellent foray into the world of semi-autonomous driving, is a piece of kit that works exactly as advertised in terms of shepherding a vehicle into its lane while significantly reducing driver fatigue. On the CT6 sedan, it was tremendous.

Trouble is, fewer people buy sedans than crossovers, meaning the technology isn’t being experienced by the masses. The segment in which the XT6 competes is brutally cutthroat, so a killer app is needed to stand out. Super Cruise would have provided that for XT6, just like enormous horsepower figures will do the trick for Aviator later this year.

To be fair, the chief engineer for XT6 told your author in DC that they are working on Super Cruise for this application and will roll it out in due course. Until then, we’ll wait for the quarterly sales numbers to see how XT6 does in the marketplace. Note well: he also told us that Super Cruise cannot be retrofitted.

GM is actively testing autonomous vehicles. The driver assistance technology, Super Cruise, which enables hands-free driving on the highway, would be expanded to all Cadillac models with rollout beginning in 2020. The company sees autonomous technology leading to a future of zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion since more than 90% of crashes are caused by driver error, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Intrigued by two points from today's NE news:-

1. 'Guardian also features a forward-facing camera which captures critical information about road conditions at the time of the event.'...an outward looking camera..not seen this before in SEE's offering

2. 'The contract represents a four-year term which will see the technology installed into around 700 vehicles by the end of the 2019 calendar year.'...why 4 years? Is NE preparing for EU-NCAP rules taking them beyond 2023? Does the 4 years cover all their vehicles being installed with Guardian? I want to know why 4 years?

It's inevitable we should see this but as we rise on the back of good news it's an almost indispensable part of price appreciation.

There's a lot more news to come here so I find it easier to target a price of say 6p (a lot more as we move forward) by end of the year which dampens my yearn to lock in decent profits

Let's see the results from the first drill. If they hit pay then you'll paying 100p+ before the market opens. If they hit a duster you'll be be able to take a cheap position in a decent oil exploration company in one of the most prospective regions in the world

A new probe into why only a % of the NAIF's been allocated. I reckon that the main reason why only a small % has been allocated is that Canberra is waiting for the potential of the Beetaloo to be unearthed and then when commercial potential is confirmed (assuming it is) then most of the NAIF will be used to develop and transport Beetaloo's gas-oil through Darwin (for Asia) and to NSW markets or to the south..that's my thoughts
