'permitting requirements'? What are those for? Does the reference to them indicate future intentions on behalf of Newcrest? Can we determine Newcrest's direction of travel with regards to Hav.?

Biswas isn't prone to exaggeration or hyperbole. I followed him with SOLG (which I still hold). For Biswas to use the term 'extraordinary' at this stage of exploration is indicative of his confidence in the unique nature of this asset but more importantly their intentions suggest Hav is an asset that may continue to grow in size. Value is still to be added

The value of a high grade T1 gold/copper asset attracts an elevated price above the norm. The processing facility exists so no capex required for processing. Economics top notch. The robust margin is all contained within the high grade nature of Havieron. If this was low-med grade the economics would be crap but high grade will mean the decision to mine Hav is a fait accompli

Mariana Resources (MARL, now delisted) held 30% of the high grade, Hot Maden project in Turkey. Their 30% was bought out by Sandstorm 3 years ago for around $185m. MARL had around 1.3m oz

GGP has 30% of Havieron and other near assets as well. High grade is the holy grail for all gold explorers and producers. GGP also has copper as well as gold and that improves its economics but of more importance is the fact that Newcrest have now confirmed that Havieron is the saviour of the Telfer processing facility and that I believe bumps up the value of GGP's 30%. Havieron's importance to Telfer affords GGP leverage in any takeover discussions

yes, the dream of living a worry free life by achieving total financial independence is everyone's dream. Not many achieve that as it's very difficult to get to that stage without considerable skill or indeed luck. The stock-market offer's the one route to financial independence (and indeed financial ruin) that other areas of life (employment, savings account, premium bonds, gambling on horses or sport etc) do not.

Therefore we invest not only cash but our hopes for the future and if our shares falter our dream of achieving our goal falters. That triggers regret, disappointment, aggression, resentment etc etc but we have no choice but to pursue our dreams using the stock-market as the conduit to achieve that as no other avenues exists that provides that opportunity

It's a poisoned chalice, to a degree so we use these forums to express our grievances. It isn't moaning when things go wrong, it's merely frustration. Rather that, than throwing yourself under a train

Is this instructive or indeed indicative of what Newcrest believes may lie beneath the surface?

Is this rate of drilling exceptional or out of the ordinary for Newcrest? In that does it indicate a higher degree of excitement and expectation than what is normal?

I did hold here before Xmas but forced to sell so looking to buy on any weakness

I did hold Mariana (MARL) who had a 30% stake at Hot Maden in Turkey. I think Sandstorm bought MARL's 30% for around $185m. High grade discovery. 3.5m initial resource, I think so $185m for 1.3m oz

The guy at Sandstorm is very accommodating and has great insight. He's always open to an email to express a view about other assets unrelated to Sandstorm
