What happens when you request a quote from the market for say 500k shares to buy in GGP or indeed to sell the same.

To whom does the request get delivered and how is it delivered?

I've tried to find out the electronic process involved in this opaque process but without success.

Does the quote we are given come from a specific market maker (ie Peel Hunt or Berenberg) or does the quote come from a pooled source of stock?

If an electronic quote is not forthcoming then you phone your broker who then contacts a host of MMs in London to get the best price for your quote size....Is this the same process when an electronic request is made ie the quote is flashed out to all MMs with the system scouring the best bid-offer from all MMs offering that size...

Newcrest will also want the full whack Havieron reserves on its balance sheet rather than 70%. That helps in Newcrest's debt management strategy. A stronger (more proven reserves) asset side of the balance sheet is reassuring for creditors

Understand the investing dynamic of natural resource companies. The importance of speculative money coming into explorers who drill and discover something special in the way SOLG did some years ago. That speculative money has moved onto other shares with higher risk and more upside due to the possibility of another discovery ie GGP...the proper money is to be made in the first steps of the cycle of natural resource investing - pre-discovery, discovery after which the speculators tend to move on

SOLG has indicated to the market its intention to mine and that means debt and dilution...if you can hold SOLG until the mining starts and some years after you may benefit but why wait that long when other stocks offer far better speculative returns

Mather's to blame for this share price. His nonsense about mining Cascabel crushed the price.

Havieron is now being seen by Biswas as the saviour of the high cost, low grade Telfer mine and processing facility. Havieron can prove to be a driver of higher margins, higher cashflow and higher profits. Newcrest is running at speed to get this asset proven up and mined...Havieron is now the future source of high grade ore for Telfer and fingers crossed BH and other tenements

Biswas will know a LOT MORE about Havieron that he did six months ago. It may explain why Newcrest is manically drilling the backside out of Havieron as we speak, as it were

The Numis target is based on 'conservative' (their word not mine) estimates of grade and size,. Broker notes can be used to manage investor expectations. I bit like Polling companies before an General Election

A proven reserve is arrived at following extensive and invasive drilling coupled with other forms of testing such as seismic and metallurgy testing. Actual data is all important to arrive at a proven reserve figure though this figure to is still a guesstimate by degrees. I think ASX demands a document of reserve declaration and at this point a resource becomes a defined proven ore reserve

I think there was a case of a gold exploration company on TSX some years ago that had falsified (massively) its initial reserves by using imported gold nuggets from South America (i think) for photography purposes

The reserve figure can be open to interpretation and discussion
