'Price needs to rise a bit more so I can cash in and buy bt for their up coming dividend. Wishful thinking .'
Wish in hindsight I had a cfd long on nasdaq and short on VOD. Still could short nasdaq and make it all back x20. That beast is still climbing today...
'They never say how much they are paying to rent the towers back.'
To be fair, thats commercial info, so they are not going to tell the competition. There are over 30 MNOs and over 300 'other' customers using the towers. VOD has control whilst reducing capital commitments/ debt, and optimising operating performance and cost. They dont have to operate and maintain empty capacity on their own. They are following a proven US roadmap.
Good news there is interest to buy in. Shame at such a big discount

€155Bn assets.
Market cap €19Bn.
Plenty of ammo.
'Ofcom will be unable to stop next year's increases because its investigations – launched five months ago – will not be completed in time. '

So, in conclusion, €65Bn Net Assets, we good?
Are they just tracking the FTSE weighting.
'Damp squib'
It's raining where I am
UK decision on 3 VOD merger cant come soon enough. No idea how OFCOM/ BEREC works in a post Brexit world. OFCOM is an EU creation. OFTEL before that

Happy with a blue day
Bitter sweet though. I blame Andrew Belly and zero interest rates. Me stuck in a sipp. Avoided 40% tax wich is good, but got to sell some this weeek or next and pay tax. Who thought up pension freedoms and then raised interest rates. THATS WHAT I WANT TO KNOW
i bin out all night clubbing and just got home. checking in before last nights ****tails wear off.
what is 'a dishonest refuse operative?'
served time for something and now working as a bin operative or collects rubbish and fly tips or something else?
'VOD cut the div in half'
The BoD have indicated 9c div for the foreseeable based on lower future commitments than historic run rate. They are able to support that with data/ published reports etc. Equity demands higher risk return than debt. Vod debt service cost is fixed for a few more years at 3%
'big mental problems'
It's possible he is a schizo, with multiple monikers. Who can tell on this anonymous BB? But you havent lost anything if you dont sell. You get the div and 10%+ yield at these prices. VOD is safe as houses imo
Jax, dont think of the negatives. That route leads to alcoholism, drug abuse, gambling and loose women, I know. Listen to someone who has already succumbed to those hedonistic excesses. Sure, the alcohol, drugs and beautiful woman are a distraction, but MDV has massively reduced debt and likely another 1Bn this year too . MDV said debt is no longer a problem, so why you worrying about it. Me personally, dividend on 4th August and I am investing that in more coke, women and alcohol (I dont get this compound reinvest the dividend winky w*nky thing). Also, there is a major investor with their middle eastern slippers under the table and expanding their footprint on behalf of a government wanting to avoid any fall out from super oil profits. Chill man.
Think debt hedges on vod SP unwind...guessing of course
FED paused in fomc, VOD up tomorrow imo
'Anyone expecting a quick profit here had better think again.'
We are talking about Vodafone. Nothing quick happens at Vodafone
Hi, its me again, Jeff Bidet of Amazing.com.
You may remember I got caught out launching a mobile service for my premium customers and I realised I needed a network to provide the service which I dont have, DOH!. Well, I lost those slides and managed to present an AI opportunity to the BoD for a genuine people personality application. Now they have asked for an update on my genuine people personality application, timelines, go to market and all that kind of thinking. Unfortunately, I realised that this thing called 5G might actually be the thing I need to get parcels from warehouse to the customer using optimal routing and location techniques. Apparently robots with genuine people personality will need access to a secure radio network to take instruction in either american english or chinese. All these dependencies on a radio network are starting to make me look foolish in front of the BoD, and its looking like a 5G network. TBH, I thought all this stuff was free plug and play and all you can eat. Turns out, radio spectrum investment is quite expensive and installing masts and transponders up and down and across a country is more than 5 minute job and the traffic on the network needs to be managed throughout the day too.
Can anyone help with next steps. The BoD are getting really impatient now and I am caught in a loop of some kind that I cant get past unless I urgently buy a network and prioritise my business traffic over everyone elses. Anyone know where I get a broad global footprint with great in country reach and maybe regulated to ensure all citizens can have access to the internet so there is kind of natural moat. Happy to spend $30Bn, $40Bn or even $50Bn if I can also get into emerging economies like Africa too.
Thanks in advance
JB
'Many people expect the widespread adoption of 5G to have a more profound impact on their day-to-day lives than Artificial Intelligence (AI), despite the latter filling headlines these days.'
