A lot of small minnows (and that includes EVERYONE on this board) have put varying amounts of monies into this project...propped it up for months on end now for zero reward.

Then, at the eleventh hour, after the s.p has gone to Hell-in-a-handbasket, they (so called Scottish investors) come in and mop up tens of millions of shares at a heavily discounted price.

Our saviours? Errr...nooooo.

Okay...I go along with that.

But why is it on every chat board regarding investment in any particular company the accusation is always the same: if your differing views, as an individual, do not match the majority...then you are labelled some sort of stock-basher with an ulterior motive. Pathetic!

You are entitled to voice your concerns. AND WHY NOT? They are fair and genuine ones as far as I can see.

Block have failed miserably time and time again to make certain deadlines...or even half come through on what they have previously intimated might be the end product. If you was doing business with these people when involved in some sort of private enterprise you would hardly be happy would you?

HOLD ON A MINUTE! Is that not what we are doing? Are we not in partnership with them? Have they produced as they said they would? Kept to deadlines? Kept us, as investors, fully in the loop?

Well...I will leave that to each individual to decide.

But don't abuse people like bottom_feeder for raising awkward questions. Block have consistently underperformed -- and that's a fact!

And the market thinks exactly the same way. And just as bottom_feeder bases his concerns on assumptions...so the majority of you on here so do.

The difference being: his assumptions are based on what HAS actually happened so far...the greater part of the rest of you are basing your assumptions on just that -- ASSUMPTIONS! And baseless ones for most of the greater part. Wishing for something does not mean you are right.

Those "Scottish investors" know far, far more than anyone on here does...and they certainly do not have our best interests at heart. In fact -- they probably laugh at us! And quite understandably so.

I would think myself that at some time in the New Year there will be a reversal in the share price.

Profit taking, a declining enthusiasm for the stock (for any amount of reasons) and the fact that a lot of "future potential" has already bolstered up the s.p somewhat over the last several months...might all contribute to a pullback. I would also keep an eye on the "Short Tracker"...it is a very good indicator of what may well happen regarding the s.p; those who short a stock are seldom wrong: they play the averages very well. Plus, If some of the bigger shareholders start selling it off...this may well create a stampede; obviously, most relevant pertaining would be a certain Mr Daniel Kretinsky.

Selling right now though, is, in my opinion, rather a risky thing to do. The s.p may well have found its future reversal support price; what I mean by this is: if it carried on rising over the next several weeks to say £3.80 a share then started to sell-off...then 3.30ish may well be the price that it eventually finds support...if indeed it does sell down at all; although I would be very surprised, if, at some point in the near future, it does not succumb to periodic profit taking over the coming weeks/months.

And at the end of the day...why sell? Eventually, even if it takes several yeas from now, these shares are going to be worth quite a bit more...perhaps even considerably more!

If this gas that everyone and his dog seem to keep harping on about doesn't come online in the very near future you may well get plenty of those. Be careful what you wish for...you might just get it.

Just finished absorbing it all, Shaunymac; for us investors it makes very good reading...should help buoy up the share price in the short term at least.

Some points to highlight from the article.

1. Considering using drones to fly mail over expanses of water.
2. Parcel delivery 7 days a week.
3. Medicines delivered to your door by posties.
4. Barcodes for letters and parcels. (much easier to track)
5. Charging customers a premium for delivering at weekends.
6. Electronic signing in/signing out for employees (long overdue!)

They do it every year apparently,OliGarch...but this year, for all the obvious reasons, it is particularly bad. Lol.

The problem, Shaunymac, lies in the amount of extra agency (and well above the usual norm for this the busiest time of year I might well add) and all the many thousands of extra hours being undertaken by staff, on top of what is normally required at any other Christmas, due to this years unprecedented circumstances regarding the pandemic.

Massive turnover...but this will not necessarily equate to massive profit.

One of the biggest costs, apart from extra trailers and cabs (whether contractors or on hire) and/or drivers to drive them, will be the actual cost required to sort, by hand mainly, the colossal upswing in the volumes of parcels.

Once automation is fully completed (too late unfortunately to capitalize on the latest events) then massive profit is ensured; not because we might have a repeat of this terrible virus (although, personally...I believe if not this then something else) but because of what is happening right now with online commerce; which, as we all acknowledge, is, undoubtedly, the future to come: more and more online buying...especially so among aging consumers.

Upon successful transition to a predominantly parcel orientated sorting/delivery business (hopefully!) RMG stands to gain greatly in the years ahead.

But like I stated -- hopefully!

Just to put things in perspective: a group of four people working off a rail in a seg might process 6000 parcels over say five working hours...one of the new parcel sorting machines going into one of the new hubs would process that amount in 7 or 8 minutes.

You can see where the profit is going to come from clear enough now. Those three parcel sorting machine will be able to process, between them (working on a 23 hour cycle) 2,500,000 parcels a day. That's right -- two and a half million!

Now that's what you call "the future"...and that's what RMG needs so urgently to do: prepare for the future, because the future -- is right now!

I had been wondering for quite a while now, leading all the way up to this present moment, about the amount of trailers that might be parked up in that Belfast yard of yours. I bet you have been hoarding them for months. Lol.

Just out of interest (because I have no real idea) ...just what does it take to get the s.p back up to 16 pence a share? Further more, what would it take to surpass this even?

In other words: what is the very best Block could expect from this venture? Hereto untapped reserves perhaps? These are, after all, old sites...they are not newly discovered.

Because there is only a limited amount of potential in any gas or oil field. So what are Block claiming is the very best they can expect here? And for how long? Just because these fields have a historical record of producing oil does not mean they still have large (vast?) reserves to be exploited. Far from it in fact. The North Sea being a prime example. Although still rich with billions of barrels of un-extracted oil...its life span, regarding fossil fuels, can now be measured in a couple of decades.

Glad for any answers regarding the above...however caustic. Still regard it as a punt myself...and just a question of when to top slice/sell it off...presuming the stock, eventually, starts to rise in value of course.

That is going to be the trick here: don't get too greedy...and make bl00dy sure you get in before the big boys start selling it off also.

There is an element of truth pertaining to the underlying sentiment of what is therein contained in your comments, Uncle_monty.

Some analysts actually agree wholeheartedly with you in fact...one in particular who is adamant that, indeed, Royal Mail will most certainly fail; in his opinion Amazon are now firmly entrenched in the British peoples psyche . He argues, because Amazon's delivery network is growing exponentially...eventually it will eclipse RMG altogether. In short: Royal Mail have left it far to late. He also puts great emphasis on the power of the CWU: much too much leverage at their disposal...and this will always be the case; well, for several generations, at the very least, in his opinion. He may well be, given enough time, proved to be quite correct about all of this.

I would take the middle line myself: all of the above is correct...but RMG's fate, as a business enterprise (supposedly to make profit) now lies firmly in their own hands. They have inherited an enviable, unsurpassed "Network" that should put them leagues in front of anybody else...including Amazon. If they cannot make this work, then, sadly...they would deserve to fail.

Nobody should underestimate Amazon...especially RMG and the CWU. They are no longer just an online market place...they are a global octopus with thousands of tentacles groping at thousands of business opportunities, all over the known civilized world, in many differing endeavours; delivery being, obviously, highest on their opportunistic priority list.

If Royal Mail and the CWU cannot deliver this time around...then the conclusion is inevitable.

And thus...so also is the outcome.

Over-reacting? Scaremongering perhaps? Maybe. But one thing is very, very certain about this life (apart from taxes and death. B.F) :- there can only be one incumbent dominant-species anywhere on the face of this or any other planet that occupies, at any such one particular time, the highly desirable niche of "Super-species"...slip from that lofty perch -- and you will be pounced upon and devoured! And then some other creature scrambles hastily up onto that highly desirable perch.

The next 3 years are the most crucial in the 500 years that Royal Mail has been in existence. Fail now, at the eleventh hour...and it all over. Simple as that.

I am betting, despite the many envisioned problems and obstacles ahead, they will eventually succeed...hopefully that is. Hopefully!

I reiterate what I have stated on here many times before: a further reduction, or, rather, due to the absence of it, in the "Shorter Working Week" is, and always has been, the major problem in negotiations...and will continue to be so.

I have quite often postulated that RMG might offer to "buy back" this further hours reduction...with a view to perhaps implementing it in a couple of years time alongside the full introduction of automation; this would seem reasonable to me.

I could not care less about the shorter- working-week myself...but tens of thousands of posties are adamant that this would be the "drawn line in the sand" for them.

No mention of it being included in any deal with RMG would just not be acceptable.

I think this why the union dismissed the previous offer without even considering it. Without that extra hours reduction it would have seemed very much like that they were actually settling for far less. That is why I am a little sceptical about this latest claim; although I would be happy to accept it. We shall see.

I don't recall the previous pay increase offer being 6% over three years.

But whether it was or it wasn't...6%, over three years, is fine by me; but only as long, of course, that this includes being backdated to April of this year.

We deserve something for going the extra mile. Don't know about anyone else but I am totally knackered!

Not the worst trade hat has ever been executed...not by a long way. Sometime after Christmas, in the New Year perhaps, the present bubble WILL more than likely burst...it simply has to.

In it for the long haul myself...but quite willing to accept there will be disappointment and setback somewhere along the way; no doubt will have my head in my hands at some point ruefully regretting my unwillingness to accept facts and reality flat on.

I do, however, have an idea of what is coming with Royal Mail, regarding the new Hubs and the reorganization of the Network...and probable increase of traffic back up to more than what it has been for quite some years now in the rolling stock upon the railways; this will be a major ace up RMG's sleeve...something our competitors cannot possibly compete with.

Once RMG get these new Hubs and new delivery infrastructure fully organized...then profit will come rolling (pardon the pun) in...and that is an absolute fact.

You have shown great restraint and objectiveness here with this decision...I know how difficult it is to press that key and let it all go; unfortunately, at times, we just get too emotionally attached to our holdings...a human failing.

Every s.p always drops below the new placing. ALWAYS! and without exception.

Why should this be any different.

And which idiot would buy more shares at even 3.2 when it was obvious it would go sub 3p?

If the pandemic had not taken place...just ask yourselves one question: where would the share price be at now?

Massive and hugely costly reinvestment; very little profit being generated (in fact all we hear talked is big losses) Network in total disarray (I know just how screwed up it is at present...I am doing the pre-advice) and an on-going battle with the union...they obviously cannot agree; more than likely the "shorter working week" (as it always was going to be) is causing great difficulties here.

And to conclude: who is selling this down everyday? It will not be very long before we know the answer to that one either.

If this identical "double-dip" had taken place over ten days I would say we were on the verge of breaking through resistance: 3.42. But not when it happens over two days.

We are back at support. If it cannot hold here then all the way back to 3.15. If not here: 3.10 followed by 2.95.

There is a decent chance it can hold here...but only the brave or well-informed are going to keep buying at these prices.

But 3.42 or 2.95...it WILL come good in the end. But not for a good while that is. And certainly not next year.
