k sera sera and Cadbury22 Jan 2010 19:23
There has been much sentimental crap in the media this week about this multi national
company which i was fortunate to be employed by for 30 years . I got out on a mvr package due to the moving of the Milk tray production operation from Bournville to Poland in 2008/9. Somerdale operations ( the old Fry's factory) were/are due to follow with some low volume product ranges other high volume products moving to Bournvilles new plants.. If Bournville operations are reduced by kraft it will be for the same economic reasons, However, there has been massive investment ast Bournville on the largest hi tech /low labour plant in the world for the staple product range. This will see Bournville through for many years. Its a shame the future descions will be made elsewhere but that's the way of it unless the debt saddled Kraft hit the rocks down the line and are subject to hostle break up. £7.5 Billion is alot of debt. Then we may see an independant cadbury again down the road.
