(Alliance News) - Edenville Energy PLC on Friday said it has delayed handing over operations at its Rukwa thermal coal project in southwest Tanzania to its partner Infrastructure & Logistics Tanzania Ltd due to issues caused by Covid-19.

Edenville had expected the transition to take place prior to the end of November, but has experienced administrative issues with work permits from the Tanzanian government as a result of a backlog due to Covid-19. The two companies had previously delayed the transition in October for the same reason.

Edenville also provided an update on its outstanding funding agreement with Lind Partners LLC, first announced in November 2018. Lind requested that Edenville repay the outstanding balance of the funding agreement, which is USD580,000, by November 30.

The two companies have since entered into discussions about the repayment terms of the agreement, but Edenville said "there are no assurances that these discussions will result in a favourable outcome."

The Rukwa mine continues to fulfil its pre-purchase orders.

Shares in Edenville were down 11% at 0.029 pence in London on Friday.

They don't say a placing is needed, they say funds need to be raised. Again read what is on the page not what you want to read. This is another slippery comments that leaves all sorts of possibilities open to them.

My views differ from yours, we were down 38% and remain down. You can talk it up, sling mud, name call, but the fundamentals are not there.

It's not a case of giving up, if no one will lend them money they may not have a choice.

How many placing have been taken up by 'existing shareholders'? At some point they will want a return.

This means that covid is not the only reason, there are other reasons and I'm sure the next RNS related to the delay in the mind being handed over will move from covid reasons to what other reasons are behind the delay. Alistair has subtly introduced a new line of excuses by saying "principly"

Could they have easily raised the cash, if they could, why didn't they? Get the cash, pay Lind, move on, but they didn't. I view it differently. No mention of placing or ITIL funding line, but only mentioned their supportive backers, is this the only funding line available to them now?

They may of signed off on the monthly payment by shares but we don't know what the contract says about paying it all back early when requested by Lind

Oh dear. I did say a Friday RNS from Edenville is never good. That information could have been released at anytime, even on Monday but they chose to bury bad news on a Friday again.

Mine not handed over and they have now explicitly stated "there may be material uncertainty regarding the Company's ability to continue as a going concern" which has been implied but never explicitly stated before. No mention of borrowing the money from ITIL then?
